A fight between Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Vandana Vithalani gets ugly on the sets of Sath Nibhana Sathiya
She may be playing a calm and docile bahu in Sath Nibhana Sathiya, but Devoleena Bhattacharjee's reel persona, it seems, is far removed from her real one. In a brash display of temper, the actress recently engaged in an ugly fight with co-star and senior actress Vandana Vithalani on the sets of the show. The cast and the crew members were stunned by Devoleena's high handed behaviour, especially because Vithalani (known for playing Rashi's conniving mother Urmila Shah in the show) is a middle aged lady.
Elaborating on the incident, a unit hand reveals, "Devoleena was busy rehearsing her lines with the director, when co-stars Vishal and Vandana, who were seated nearby, burst out laughing. Apparently, the two actors were giggling at their own jokes completely oblivious of Devoleena's ongoing rehearsals. But the actress got distracted by their peals of laughter and lost her cool. She began screaming at Vandana in front of the whole unit. The heated exchange left the senior actress in tears and she immediately rushed to her room."
Vishal, who was witness to the incident, got upset at Devoleena's behaviour and asked her to mind her manners. "The issue soon snowballed into raging fight between Vishal and Devoleena when the latter asked him to keep his mouth shut. The spat escalated further when both actors ended up hurling abuses at each other," adds the source.
When contacted, Devoleena didn't deny it, although she did try to play it down. "A minor argument turned ugly, that's all. Everything is fine now," she said. Vithalani too insisted all is well. "I was very hurt by Devoleena's behaviour. But such things happen and it's nobody's fault. Besides, we are like family. So all is forgiven and forgotten. Things are fine between us now," said the senior actress.
