Can we expect any logic from the creatives? I agree that Dharam & Meera are good looking. Dharam is gifted when it comes to his looks but that does not change his age.

In my personal opinion, 20 years of age difference between husband & wife does not work out.

In our office itself, one of our colleagues had agreed to marry a person who was 20 years elder to her. She had agreed only to keep her parents happy but inwardly she was not happy with that relationship.

We got to know only after her engagement with that person. We dissuaded her to go ahead with that relationship & told her parents not to give the girl to that person to which they agreed. None of her relatives were happy with that.

Well it could be worse... Shravan could have got married to both OR Vidya could have got married to Shravan AND Dharam OR Gopi could have got married to Shravan and Meera with Dharam OR Parag with Gaura & Kokila with Dharam & Gopi with Shravan.
The list of worse possibilities is heights so you figure out which is better.

But that's one person you're talking about, one person who didn't actually choose the guy for herself. There are countless stories of people who get married to guys of the same age just to keep their families happy but it doesn't work out. So it'd be pointless to pin one experience to another one.

My friend is married to a man who is 16 years older than her and they've been together for 2 years now. Very happy as well. That and free will is the reason I believe it's not a bad thing.

In most of the cases this does not work out. Dharam is of Meera's dad's age. It means that Shravan can marry Gopi and Meera can marry Ahem as well. Vidya can marry Dharam & Shravan. Even Meera can marry Shravan. Gaura has brought the proposal to Meera for Shravan and now she is becoming his step mother. That too younger than her Vidya's hubby.

In that 20 years age difference, it anything happens to the man where will the wife go? These kind of marriages takes place in villages & that in Asian countries.

If such a marriage takes place, a girl would first look at his financial stability & then proceed.

Secondly whatever the age is, one shouldn't marry for pleasing others even if it is their own parents. Of course they wish well for their children but it is impractical to please them at the cost of one's own happiness.

This show has shown a lot worse:

A woman drugged and slept with a man, so basically he was drugraped and the crime was left unreported,
A mother threatened to kill her unborn child to blackmail others and then later tried to kill that child soon after she is born,
A 10 year child used knowledge from her school textbooks to kill people.

Personally, I don't the current track is anywhere near as bad as compared to the ones I've mentioned above.

Your points are valid. In fact I would say "Yehi ek baaki reh gaya." (This was the one remaining.)

That is funny. To add to these, Meera can marry Ahem as well as he & Dharam are of the same age group.

What I'm saying is the things I mentioned were very disgusting crimes. Marrying your sister's father-in-law to cause trouble to your own family isn't a good thing, but then it isn't a crime where as attemped murder and rape are.
