Chapter 3-
Next day Meera got ready for college and went to Vidhya's room to call her but the room was empty. That's weird! Where did she go without informing her? She shrugged. Perhaps she had an early class that's why she left. She too left for college. Few of her friends were waiting for her in the parking lot. They all came to her as she got down from her car. While they were chit chatting another car stopped just beside Meer'a car. A young girl at her age came down from the driver's seat. She was wearing yellow maxi skirt with pink tank top. Meera scoffed.
Meera: Look whose there. The great behen ji. By the way I never got to know her name.
Tia one of her friend answered.
Tia: She is Amaya Sareen. Daughter of Late Police Commissioner Abheejit Sareen and Shanya Sarren. She was their adopted children.
Meera: Late? Means both of them are dead?
Lyra another girl of Meera's group spoke up.
Lyra: Yes. And jisse tu behenj keh rahi hai usspe pure college ke ladke marte hai including your so called friend Raghav.
[And the girl you are calling behen ji, boys always throw themselves at her feet including your so called friend Raghav.]
Meera's hands balled up into fists. She gritted her teeth.
Meera: What do you want to say?
Tia: All she wants to say is the truth. You always tell that The Raghav Sing Rathod is your friend and soon to be boyfriend. But we never saw him with you. No phone calls, no messages. But when Raghav used to be at college Amya was in his group. Raghav was very introvert person. He didn't have a lot of friends. But in those few Amya was one of them. In fact I saw them together in a few days ago in a restaurant.
Meera felt as if her head is going to explode. With great effort she restrained herself.
Meera: Okay. You want proof? I will give you proof. Just wait and watch.. (in mind) not fair Raghav not fair. You don't even talk to me properly but you took that behen ji in a restaurant with you. Why are you doing this?

Ahem was attending a very important meeting but his mind was wandering back to Gopi time to time. A question he suppressed in his heart surfaced again. What he did all those years ago was it right? He abandoned his family. He kept her children away from their family. Why? Unfortunately his mind couldn't find any suitable answer.

Vidhya got up early in the morning and finished her morning chores quickly. Then she went to the kitchen. As it was too early they didn't made any breakfast. In fact there wasn't a single soul in the kitchen. Whole Modi Bhaban was in deep sleep. Vidhya opened the fridge and brought some bread. She was about to put them in box when a hand stopped hers. It was Gopi.
Gopi couldn't sleep whole night. As the dawn broke she came to the kitchen for water she spotted Vidhya putting cold breads in a box.
Gopi (to herself): Yeh ladki kabhi nehi sudhregi. Alsi kahiki.
[This girl will never come to line. Lazy bone.]
She was still smiling when she made sandwich and put them in the box.
After a long time Vidhya was getting the glimpse of that old Gopi whom she used to know. Who used to love her beyond everything and was about to ready to throw away her life in need. Then what happened? If she loved them so much then shy she left? Years. She waited years for her mother. She used to keep watch at the door. She used to think all this as a joke. She used to wait for her mother to show up at the doorstep and hug her like she used to. But that never happened. As time passed her every hope died and bitterness took place. She asked her father many times but he didn't answer. She will have to find the answers. If not for her mother's sake then for her own. She will just have to know the answers.
Gopi watched Vidhya as she took the box and went away. She kept looking at her daughter hoping for a something anything. Who was she fooling? Her children were not her anymore. But as she stopped in her tracks as Vidhya stop at the kitchen door. Glancing sideway she murmured.
Vidhya: Thanks.
Then she went away. Gopi's eyes tear up. Did she heard right? Did her daughter spoke to her? Perhaps there is still hope.

As Vidhya sat on her car she sketched her plan. Asking to the elders is pretty much useless. They are not going to open their mouth. Samar and Sahir is out of question. They were kids just like her. They wouldn't know anything either. She will have to keep Meera out of the picture. If she gets a sniff about her plan she will gather up a riot. Then who? She sighed. There is only one person who can help her right now. The only person who will understand her pain and need to know the truth is him. She closed her eyes and rested her head and the headrest for a moment. The sun came up. Birds were preparing to left home and go to daily work. The flowers in the garden were dancing with giddy joy in the gentle morning breeze. She opened her eyes and picked up her phone. After a few call a gruff came up from the other side.
Voice: Hello.
