I was watching the episode today when Gopi was killing Radha with a Trishul (I mean honestly, at some point she had her wits end with this evil, and needed to do something about it), and I noticed that Kokila at first was saying, "No Gopi!" but then she said "Goddess, please calm down," like she knew this was the Goddess Durga inside Gopi giving her the strength to kill Radha...
And Kokila even patted Gopi's head which means that she blessed her in some way...

So what's going to happen? And Ahem had this look on his face like he knew his fears had come true...something bad was going to happen and that was Gopi going to jail for saving and protecting her family from her own evil sister. Ridiculous though because Gopi killed Radha for self defense and to protect the baby.

It is not the self defense, but Radha was warned by all like 100 times, but still she did not listen to anyone but went on doing what she wanted to do.. that's badla.. so this killing was not done instantly.. and the way Radha acted cruel with Gopi and the baby is unpardonable..

In that whole scene I was seeing eight years of suppressed rage finally coming to the surface. Eight years of hurt and pain of separation, from Ahem, Meera, her Maaji. Caused by her one and only sister due to jealousy and a twisted notion that Gopi was the cause of all Radha's troubles. I am now wondering if her anger was also directed at other events in her life.
I think the main reason why the self defence route is not applied is had Gopi taken this action when Radha was in the throes of beating seven shades of crap out of Gopi it would have been justified. But because she came out of the lake with that intent the blind justice system would say that it was pre meditated. That and the Modis must have hired a crap lawyer that rolled over and died. Fourteen years and that too of a mother with two young daughters? Double

Now coming back to "I killed her cos the goddess made me do it" surely such act would be scrutinised as being not in sound mind and would come under the umbrella of diminished responsibility? I know it would here.

It can also be that the Modis have approached many lawyers but no one was ready to take the case & the lawyer who took the case could not save Gopi.

Yes, I too observed that. Initially Kokila said no Gopi but then she brought Rashi forward & said Goddess, please calm down. She gave the child to Gopi & touched her head which is an indication that she blessed her & tried to console her.

When Gopi came out of the river, Radha had screamed & was about to attack her again but Gopi slapped her & stabbed her with Trishul.

Yea so I don't think that Kokila would be upset with Gopi. She kept thinking of the sage who said to Gopi that sometimes good has to pay a price for eliminating evil. She knew what was going to happen next.

I really wish they had showed like the in betweens of what happened - after Radha's death by Gopi's hands, what did the family do to Radha's body? Did her mom get upset with her for killing her second daughter? What did Ahem and Gopi decide to do about going to America together, and did they get a lawyer for her? They could have shown the court hearings and how Gopi was provoked by Radha, all the crap Radha did to the family (they did have evidence and proof from the mental hospital, and other records of what she did in the past), etc. There didn't need to be a leap...the show could have continued in a logical way rather than "let's jump to the leap now." They could have done the leap after Gopi was either tried and locked up or tried and set free on the basis of self defense or protecting the baby. And really it was self defense because this girl was trying to kill her own baby. I don't think anyone would have said "oh the goddess came inside her" as that is really ridiculous.

I agree about the eight years of supressed rage and I honestly would not blame Gopi. This disgusting sister of hers was the devil incarnate himself.

I'm actually not sure that Radha was insane more so a devious ploy by her to get out of jail on that pre text. I too wish that they had gone with the fallout of Friday's actions and followed through. But they have taken the easy and lazy way out by going for the leap. The writers must think that they are Sam Beckett from Quantam Leap and that the next leap would take them home. Numpties!

No one will believe that Durga had entered inside Gopi to kill Radha. The CV's could have killed Radha in a better way.
