Star Plus' Saath Nibhana Saathiya (Rashmi Sharma Productions) will soon see the entry of Gopi's (Devoleena Bhattacharjee) parents.
Jaya Ojha who has earlier been part of Sasural Simar Ka and Mrs Kaushik ki Paanch Bahuein has been roped in to essay Gopi's mother. Also making his presence felt as Gopi's father will be Sanjeev Bhatt of the movie Nautanki Saala fame.
Coming to the drama related to their entry, our source says that Gopi's parents will be spotted at a restaurant where a contest will be going on to find the person with the longest moustache.
Yes, you heard it right.
Gopi's father, played by Sanjeev Bhatt will sport a very long moustache, which actually touches the ground. A reliable source tells us that there is a back story to it, as the man grows a moustache from the day he lost his one year old daughter Gopi in a mela. He has apparently taken an oath that he will cut his moustache only on the day when he gets his daughter back. Also adding to the family's trauma, is the fact that Gopi's mother has lost her memory from the time she lost her kid. She, even today, assumes that her daughter Gopi is a one year old kid.
We also hear that when Gopi's parents enter the Modi household, Gopi's mother will mistake Meera (Gopi's daughter) to be Gopi. If sources are to be believed, Gopi's younger sister will also be entering the show, for which the cast is yet to be finalized.
When contacted, Jaya Ojha confirmed her entry in Saathiya saying, "Yes, I will enter Saathiya as Gopi's mother. But I have no idea about the role as it is still to be narrated to me."
