Madhu, I am going to go against popular sentiment and say.. Yes.. The Modis were right😛
Let me take an example from Mahabharatha. When Duryondhana and Karna tried to kill the Pandavas with Kunthi in Vaaranaprastha, the Pandavas did no wrong. They were in a similar situation.
But they chose to go into hiding and decided to take the avatar of Brahmins and their mother to conceal their identity.. this for years..
This, inspite of the Pandavas having full faith on Bhishma who was then the head of the family. They also had popular support from the people.
The Modis too are in the same shoes. Yes. They have contacts with the commissioner and it is obvious from the people in the chawl that they also have popular support but yet, is it prudent to confront the ACP without actual evidence?😊
All the Modis have right now is Gopi, who knows the story but has nothing to prove it with. There is no one to support her story. No one in the hospital knows that Gopi was just a passer by helping a hapless women. They saw Gopi bring Preethi in and they now have a dead body with no Gopi.
Gopi's evidence is essential but not all compassing.. That means, even the commissioner will be unable to help. Added to this fact, there is no actual complaint (until Shukla dug for it) from the necessary party.
The commissioner will, even if he wants to, not be able to act with a hypothetical case.
In the time it would have taken the Modis to convince the commissioner that one of his ACPs is a rogue, anything may have happened. We saw that on the the first night, the goons came home with sticks.. How long would it have taken for someone to get hurt? Not much right?
A good, strategic person thinks of ways to avoid getting hurt. It is all well to want to flaunt ones' power and wealth like Rashi and Urmi but if one does that without thinking through, one cannot survive.
But now with factual evidence, it is easier to prove the crime. 😊 Hope I made sense
