DOTW - 13th Apr - Can Gopi become a better person?

Nice topic Swasthi. As for can Gopi change, going by the storyline I am going to say no. The very thing that Kokila wants to change in her is the very thing that she is holding onto. Yesterday when Ahem saw her with the mask and blindfold, in the confines of their room she could have told him but yet again she did the age old thing and did not reveal to him even as he led her downstairs. I just found the whole thing stupid and actually saw arrogance in Gopi. From experience I have learnt that if someone is set in their ways then it is very hard to change them. No matter how hard you will try to make someone see the truth they are not going to do anything until the truth actually turns round and bites them on the bum. Sorry to be harsh but I see a gullible, gutless Gopi who is incapable to judge who is her wellwisher and who isn't. It will need a huge miracle to bring about a change in her.

I agree gopi will never change ... rashi will not let this happen .. somehow rashi know how to pull the strings in gopi. Remember when gopi wanted rashi to change to be good it was only for a couple of days and rashi went back to her normal self... this is what is going to happen to gopi , gopi has always been the doormat and she will also be a doormat . this was in gained into her by U&R ,,, old habits dye hard...

I don't believe everyone can be a leader.. That is highly impossible but yes, one can become a little aware of things happening around us given time and experience.

Even animals like cats don't do the same mistake again when they get hurt by the first mistake but Gopi and Kokila are perfect exceptions.

I agree with Xari upto a point. Gopi is very stubborn and that is also a reason for her downfall but I think that stubborn attitude comes from being burnt time and again.

Kokila frightens her. The removal of mask by accident led to Kokila admonishing Gopi.. Gopi fears that Kokila will only see her talking and not why she talked.. But this should stop somewhere.. Maybe deep inside Gopi wants to get back and that is why she is not talking at the right time at all.

I don't believe though that Kokila will be successful in changing Gopi. It will be upto Gopi herself to look at herself and change herself. A thief will remain a thief until he wants to change.. The same applies to Gopi..

But a little understanding and some calm talk will go a long way. Kokila is too set in her way and too high handed to see that her methods are not yielding results to be a true teacher. A teacher does not lose patience nor do they judge their pupil if the student is not as good as the rest.

Kokila is not a good teacher but she wants her DIL to do as she says and follow her words to the T while looking for mistakes when there are none.

I don't see either changing in the near future. There can be small changes to the situation like a life being threatened etc., but that is not going to make any big difference to the basic attitude of Kokila or Gopi🥱

Koki's idea to make Gopi stronger.. Isn't Gopi stronger when it comes to standing up for people like Preethi?

Gopi had no issues helping that poor woman and fighting goons. She had the thoughtfulness to try calling her husband and the family when he was not reachable.. She had the strength to call a spade a spade and also question the policeman before believing him..

For a person who can do all the above, the fact that she cannot stand against UrShi alone seems to be very telling.. Is it the way she was brought up? Her unconscious gratitude that is overwhelming her so much?

Gopi is certainly blind when it comes to UrShi. What Preethi underwent, she did too, without even being a DIL in the hands of UrShi.. Both have underwent physical abuse..

Gopi also has seen how Urmi treats Kinjal which is also another form of domestic violence.. But she cannot for the earth stand up against these two..

How will this change? Is Gopi, the better person of all in MM disadvantaged due to her childhood?
