Devoleena Bhattacharjee who is from Sivasagar, Assam came to the city of Mumbai to try her luck in the entertainment industry. And this was when her mother gave her daughter all the support that she needed. She even accompanied Devoleena to Mumbai along with her son. However, there was a phase when her mother who is working in ONGC could not get adjusted to the fast life of Mumbai. This was when she applied for a shift back to Assam last year. Now when her mother has got her transfer to Assam, the whole family, instead of feeling happy seems to be in a sorrowful mood.

The pretty actress said, "Mom and my brother had come down to Mumbai along with me. Since she did not like the place and our society objected to the raising of pets (Devoleena has two dogs), mom sent an application for a transfer back to Assam. After a year, she has managed to get the transfer, but the sad part is that mom has very well adjusted to the lifestyle of Mumbai now. But we have no other option left, as the request for transfer had come from us. Mom has to shift base to Assam in May (2013). But my younger brother will stay back with me. We are trying to spend as much time as possible before she leaves Mumbai."
