It's too bad that dirty politics, which often are the undercurrents of careers - perhaps more so in the entertainment industry, superseded retaining a fantastic actress. I am disappointed in Star Plus for firing Gia. Gia should have read the fine print, i.e, hired an entertainment business lawyer, prior to signing the dotted line regarding the conditions of her contract. I am surprised that she chose the short-term JDJ show over SNS. Perhaps, to showcase that she can do more than crying and playing demure "meri Gopi bahu." Generally, it is not a wise move to burn bridges with an employer before moving on to another one. Whatever her path now, I wish her the best.

When Kalpna Bohra, who played the role of Kesar, left Pratigya due to personal reasons (she was moving to Australia/New Zealand? w/her hubby), and Aalika Sheikh replaced her, I wondered how the new actress would compare to the previous one. Luckily, each of these actresses are superb in their own right and talented. There is no comparison between the two because individually they could take on the role of Kesar and portray her impeccably.

In the case of Gia's role, I would really like to be positive about the new actress' caliber to foray ahead with portrayal of Gopi bahu. I'd also like to see a fresh take on the stagnated SNS drama - perhaps Gopi's role can include being a woman of success beyond trailing behind "maaji", singing songs (that hardly suit her), and Green tea for Ahem. I'd love to see Gopi role expand beyond these tasks. Hopefully, with the entry of the new actress, the storyline will progress towards a "woman of today" whose values embody "traditions of yesteryear").

Stay positive, folks!

Loved your post Munni. I must say thank you first because I am feeling so much better after reading your post. An eye opener!
SNS is the first serial I have religiously watched. I have learnt a lesson. Never get too attached to fiction. I am sure you are used to it now. I am just a beginner.
As an artist, she needs/wants to explore all aspects of entertainment to widen her profile. Maybe this was Giaa'a time to go out and explore.
Giaa lost SNS, but she has a lot to gain from this loss.
I wish Giaa all the success in life. You will be greatly missed.
Debolina - Welcome to SNS and best of luck to you too.

Munni, thank you for the much needed post... with so many on the forum being upset... I fully agree every show must go on, even without the head of production... and another thing I want to say is that all good things have to end... so.. it is ok I guess, yes it takes time for the new girl (as Gopi) to develop chemistry with Ahem, as you said if the story is good, we could still watch.. And also there are other fabulous actors like Rucha, Rupal... I love their acting skills... 😃
Thanks again, have a wonderful night...😃

really great post.Yes you are correct. But it will take some time for me to adjust to the new character.Because even in our life when everything is going accordingly and if there is any change we will take some time to adjust to it so in the same way I think everyone need some time to adjust and all these post and un satisfaction is because of the new change.

Yep the show must go on. Giaa was a fantastic Gopi and she made Gopi her own character and Giaa will be missed for sure but I'm ready to give the new actress (Devonleena) a chance. Who knows she might play the character of Gopi very well and make Gopi into her own too the way Giaa did.. Well she must play her well if the directors of the show cast her.
anywho good luck to both actresses!

Munni,

Thank you for making such a post. I know that I haven't been the greatest chirper in the forum lately, but I really do want all of us to give the new actress a chance. She's really brave for doing this and I hope she gives it her all. Gopi's face as changed, but her character remains. I'm not abandoning this ship yet.
