I want to write this story as to how it should play out on monday...or maybe give this panel of fans something to dream about and hope for.
Ahem and Gopi had just given Rashi the kangan they had ordered for her birthday. Ahem had also let Koki know about the delay in her order so she would not be sad that he did not gift her. But now Gopi was feeling a little sad thinking that Ahemji is like fall season...sometimes hot and sometimes cold. Gopi is happy that Ahem takes care of his mother, but she thought they were coming closer to each other and that he would have gifted her a pair of kangans as well. But to Gopi's dismay he didn't. Ahem on the other hand had seen the disappointment on Gopi's face and knew what she was thinking...and that gave him a smile and he thought to himself...wait till tonite Gopi, I have your gift right here and he gently pats his heart while looking at Gopi. Ahem had other plans. He wished he could share it with Gopi so she would not looked so sad...but...that would have ruined the surprise.
The party was fun, there was a lot of dancing and masti. Most of the dancing was done by Urmi and Rashi. Ahem thought back to how Gopi had started her birthday of crying and feeling guilty. He knew he had strong feelings for Gopi...he had come to except them after her accident. Now when he thinks back he cannot stand the sight of Urmi treating Rashi like a princess and Gopi like a pauper. He wished he could go back in time and change Gopi's birthday or at least hugged her when she was crying on his shoulder. He has called himself stupid numerous times for not going with his instincts. No Ahem had to go with his ego and control his emotions. Now watching gopi being so happy for her sister was breaking his heart. He started to wonder did she ever feel hatred towards anyone? Ahem didn't think so. Whatever had happened at her pheer was going to be in the past. And Ahem was happy that she was happy with his family and maybe from tonite with him as well. That is if all goes well. He was starting to get a little nervous. He wanted to make everything right with Gopi. He also knew he was going to have to work real hard. And for Gopi it would be all worth it. He would make sure of it. He looked in the inside pocket of his jacket to make sure the package was still there and was happy to see it. The party was starting to dwindle down. So the Modi's bid everyone farewell and left to go home. Rashi would be dropped of later by Dhaval. This way she could spend some more time with her family.
Ahem asked Gopi to go and rest and he would come up shortly as he had to talk to his mom. Gopi nodded and Ahem went to his moms room. Parag and Koki were talking about the party and how ridiculous some of the events were. Parag was telling Koki everyone has different opinions and that the bottom line was they all had fun. Just then Ahem knocked on the door and was asked to come in. Ahem came in and told his parents I need to tell you two something and I don't know how to say it. Koki told him to start with what is all this about? Ahem looked at his mom and then his dad and then said I wanted your opinion on something and also tell you something. First let me start by saying thank you to mom and also mom you were never wrong. You could never be wrong. Koki now was completely confused and asked Ahem to explain himself. Ahem then began his story of how he was starting to come to realize his feelings for Gopi and how his mom had in the end made the right decision in choosing Gopi for him. He has been watching her and seeing how she has become everyones ladlee. Ahem then continued on to say that he is going to gift her something tonite as a promise to work on their marriage and then he pulled out the little box from his pocket and handed it to Koki. Koki took the box and opened it and was surprised at what she saw. Parag moved closer to Koki and was also taken aback. They both looked at him and said this is perfect and I know Gopi vau wil like it. You have our blessings Ahem dikra. I know you will make us proud.
Ahem then with a smile and satisfaction of having his parents blessings went to his room. Gopi had already changed into her night saree and was at the dresser taking out her jewelry. Ahem came inside and shut the door and said um Gopi did you like the kangans we got for Rashi? Gopi looked at him with a smile and said they were perfect and she was happy. Ahem then asked her if she liked the design they picked for his mom? And to that also Gopi had a smile on her face and said those would look perfect on Maji's hands! Ahem didn't expect anything less from her. He knew no matter what her expectations she would never have been jealous of anyone...ever.
So then Ahem went to the dresser and asked Gopi to stand as he had a gift for her as well. Gopi just looked at him to see if he was serious and then slowly she stood just a few feet from Ahem. Ahem came closer to her and handed her the box and told her he picked it up this morning before going to the office. He did not want to order it because he wanted to surprise her with it. Gopi looked at him with a hint of tears rimming her eyes. She took the box still looking at Ahem and said what is this for. He said first open it and then tell me if you like it. When Gopi opened it she found a mangal sutra with a diamond pendant inside the box. She looked at him and said I already have one Ahemji. So Ahem took it out and put it on her removing the old one and then he said this new one is for our new beginning Gopi. And it starts right here right now. He cupped her face and said I know I have hurt you a lot in the past and we have been thru our own problems in life. It is true that I never wanted you to be a part of my life, but that was before I realized that it is not you that are worthy of me but, it is ME that is not worthy of you. I want to have a second chance to be a better husband for you, Gopi. And this mangal sutra represents a new start for us. Is this still what you want? Gopi who did not stop looking at him and now had tears in her eyes nodded yes. Ahem then slowly moved closer to her and gathered her in his arms and Gopi sobbed like never before. All she could say was Ahemji, I never in my wildest dreams thought this day would come. I thought that we would only be friends and nothing else. But today you have made the happiest woman on this earth. To that Ahem replied you have made me the happiest man by excepting me Gopi. He then kissed her forehead and said from now on only tears of joy are allowed and no more tears of sadness. He lifted Gopi's face to his and said we are going to take it slow and we will not rush into anything ok? Gopi did not want to come down from the cloud nine she was on...Ahem then looked at the bed and said maybe there is one thing we can put a rush on...He looked at Gopi and said I don't think we need to sleep separately do we? Gopi looked down turning red and nodded no. Ahem then said let me go change and I will join you in bed. He looked down at her again and said I am so happy Gopi, I hope I am able to make you as happy as you have made me. He then said can I ask you one more thing? Gopi looked at him with a wrinkled forehead and asked what? Ahem then touched his scar from having cut himself shaving and said I need to have another one of those kisses to make this day complete. Gopi tried to escape but Ahem held on to her tight and said no problem if you won't then I will...saying that Ahem leaned down to Gopi's cheek and kissed her and lingered there longer than needed. He then looked into her eyes and said I love you Gopi...I hope you know that. I love you more than anything else I may have thought I loved before you. Ahem then hugged her again and said let me go change otherwise we will be standing here all night. After Ahem changed he saw that Gopi was still at the dresser holding her new mangal sutra and in a dream world. He went behind her and said I am sleepy are you coming? She looked at him from the mirror and turned red. He turned her around and led her to the bed where from now on they would sleep holding each other and slowly taking it a step closer to consummate their marriage. For now they were both happy to be able to hold each other and allow each to be held by the other.
