This entire pigeon track has come to a head. Ahem's involvement and acceptance of mutual blame had been integral to making his wife realise two things: one, that Rashi is at fault, i.e. she can speak lies, and two, his mum had her reasons.
Gopi's reasonings of why it was necessary to take care of it indoors drove home a strong message to Ahem. It had given him a greater perspective of what Gopi thought of his help to her while she was recovering, that close ones take care of them. He was pleased to hear her say this. When Koki succumbed to a better option Gopi's face lit up with a smile making him respond to her as well.
Gopi's thank you and Ahem's reaction to this was well noted by his mum. This confirmed to Koki just what had happened when Ahem asked for Gopi's help for a file - it was more than just that. She is glad to see that progress is being made by both of them.
Ahem was pleased that a middle ground was made relieving the uneasiness a bit between his wife and his mum. He was delighted to know that all his help was appreciated whole heartedly and she has feelings for him (just what and how much is unknown but there is something there). This takes him to a better point in his relationship with Gopi that it is not one sided but she has something for him too.
