Maybe when looking for the rishta she didnt want a someone like Anita but now after knowing Gopi and her nature dont think Kokila will see her as a threat to her relationship with her son.
The Kokila character loves to control everyone, she thought until Naani mentioned it all was rosy with Gopi and Aham, though she had to point (with her eyes and head) to Gopi when she wanted Aham to do a ritual or do anything with Gopi and similarly to Gopi with Aham, to her that was normal forcing them to do things together. She's ignorant too sometimes, so I don't really know where the CV's are going with this, or it could just be another delay tactic of they's, eventually Kokila gives in after some more persuading by Gopi and Hetal. Or she is waiting on Aham, but he has made it plain to her several times what he thinks of illiterate Gopi. We all say Aham has no heart but his mother also doesn't understand that the insults Aham throws at Gopi are soul destroying (just look at today's flashbacks, Aham insulting Gopi, she on her knees in their room with the wedding album...completely unhappy in this marriage). This could all be elevated by educating her, slowly slowly, first the basics then she will continue to develop herself.
