Writer/director Shoaib Mansoor follows the critically acclaimed, award-winning 'Khuda Kay Liye' with this taboo-busting social drama. Pakistani television actress Humaima Malick makes her film debut as Zainub, a young woman from Lahore who bravely stands up against societal norms of treating woman as lesser beings. In addition to tackling women's rights, 'Bol' also explores numerous other controversial subjects and purported 'no-go' areas including homosexuality and the lifes of eunuchs. 'Bol', which translates as 'Speak', also explores the complexities of Shia-Sunni dynamics in a nation dominated by Sunni Muslims. The excellent supporting cast includes Iman Ali, Mahira Khan and singing sensation Atif Aslam, who contributes two songs to the soundtrack.
