He always uses his head not his heart...that is what i think. No emotion or empathy. He could have appreciated Gopi, told her nicely, explain everything, make things clear to her gently. At least be her friend. Maybe find her a nice guy and set her up? And this Gopi, is always so nice!
But i still want GoHam :(

haha that scene was my fave pehle toh bechaare Dhawal ko jaga bhi nahi di i was and still am so sorry for him aur ooper se woh Rani begum was elbowing him to mov him further kiss kisam ki lady hai woh usko kitani jaga chahiye??
