Part 11
The sun had already risen and Gopi too opened her eyes at exactly 8.45 and the first thing she saw was Aham's photograph on the bedside table. She then realised that she was wearing his bathrobe and blushed thinking about Aham putting it on for her. She felt something heavy on her waist and saw the very familiar arm around her. When she moved her head a little she felt something hard touching the back of her hair. She then came to realise that her husband was sleeping with his head buried in her hair which was still quite damp from the shower the night before. What happened last night? Why was she feeling different today? She felt a little sore somewhere but she didn't know where. She was disoriented and quite confused. But she couldn't help but smile at the memory of Aham confessing, carrying her to the bed, kissing her and how she felt unusual things happening to her. She loved him too, yes she did and that too with all her heart. After lying there remembering the night before and relaxing comfortably in her husband's arm, she knew she needed to get up and she also wanted to see her husband's face. She slowly removed Aham's arm, definitely not wanting him to get up and see her wearing nothing but the robe and that too in broad daylight where everything could be seen more clearly. Gopi removing Aham's arm, causing him to stir and lie on his back. She watched Aham as he settled down in his new position. Oh how she felt like giving him a little kiss on his cheek but due to her shyness she just carressed his hair instead. She just loved the way Aham sleeps, like a child, the way he hugged her from behind. It felt so good, so comfortable.
She proceeded to bathe and get ready. Again she tucked Aham properly and went downstairs to help out with the breakfast. Once she and Rashi were done serving their respective MILs, it was time for the men to wake up and have their breakfast. Gopi knew that Kokila would wake her dikra up but she wished she could do it and at that very moment, Kokila entrusted the responsibility of waking Aham up to Gopi. Gopi calmly nodded despite the fact that her heart was jumping with joy and anticipation. She went upstairs in her usual pace trying hard to disguise her actual feelings. Gopi then entered the room and found Aham sleeping on his side. She closed the door partially and went to get Aham's clothes out. Once that was done, she started towards Aham howver as she was nearing the bed, she did not notice that part of the blanket was on the ground. She stepped on it and tripped and fell over sleeping Aham who woke up with a shock. Since Aham was on his side, Gopi's right palm was on the backside of Aham, pressed on the bed while her left was on the other side of Aham. Her face was buried in Aham's neck area just below his left ear. Aham did not move as he tried to figure out what just happened. He found his face pressed against Gopi's neck. He took in he sweet smell and smiled imagining how Gopi could have fallen. What a sight it would have been! He thought. Slowly Gopi got up cursing herself. Here she came to wake her Ahamji up and what she did? Yes she woke him up, after making a fool of herself. What would he be thinking of her now? Can't even wake someone up properly.
As for Aham, he was just waiting to see his wife's cute embarrassed expression and once he saw that, he started laughing loudly and uncontrollably. Gopi was still bending over Aham when he started laughing and she as usual was confused. Before she could totally get off him, Aham, still laughing, pushed her waist down and made her fall back on top of him. He then teased, "arre, phir se gir gayi? (eh, u fell again)" (talking about the second fall which was due to him.) and continued laughing. Gopi was too embarrassed to even protest and say that he was the one who pushed her the second time. Gopi pressed her palms on Aham's chest and lifted herself up. When she was about to move away Aham stopped laughing finally and said, stopping her, "ek minute," when she turned to face him with her head bent and cheeks pink, he continued,"har subah ko mom ko 10 minute lagte hain mujhe uthane ke liye lekin tum ne to ye kaam 1 second mein hi kar liya, maanna parega, bare ache se meri din ki shuruat huwi hai ( every morn, mom takes 10 min to wake me up but u did this in a second. A very gd start to my day)," He waited for his wife to say something and Gopi said, " ji woh per phisal giya tha, maaf karna ( my feet got stuck, i m sorry)" to which Aham got up, stood in front of her, held her arm with his thumb carressing her skin and replied "nahi nahi koi baat nahi agar mere upar nahi girogi, to aur kis ke upar girogi? Waise kal raat ke baad sab theek hai na? Kuch..." Before he could finish the shy Gopi ran away. Aham chuckled at his wife's reaction. "Ek baar chance mil jaye, iss ki sharmane ka ilaj bhi ho jaye ga"
It was night time in MM and Kokila told Gopi and Aham to pack for their five-day trip. She also gifted Gopi 2 saris to wear for the shadi and the reception. Gopi did both their packing in one huge suitcase. She too couldn't wait for their trip the next day.
