I've put forth this question before, and have never received an answer. I'm putting it forth again, to see if some of those new to the forum and those who lurk can give me an honest, intelligent answer.

Here's the question:

Why does this show have a TRP of #1?

Simple enough. I don't want to hear that 'it's so good' or "Aham is so hawt". I want solid, intelligent reasons why you think this show is THE best show on Indian TV, why you like it, and why you watch it.

Thank you!

i can't say why i like it.. but i can give a plausible reason for why it is at the top...

it is on the top because of the small bones CVs are throwing our way...
i mean the precaps... only the precaps are good, but the day they are shown, they are shown at the end of the episode letting us wonder what is gonna happen tomorrow...
so you see one good precap can keep us hooked for 2 days... and so on... so its not rocket science that the serial is popular...😡... am raving mad at them right now... why in the world did they have to bring dhawal... did you see the sensation and speculation it caused... i bet 10th december episode would have grossed large TRPs

CVs of this show might not have creativity but the editors of this show have the mind of jackal... very cunning

I wonder this exact thing all the damn time.

I remember seeing this show like a month ago, like a snippet of it, and legitimately going what the heck is this crap? I hated gopi, I hated Aham, I hated everything about the show, within a span of 5 seconds.

Why did I start watching this then? (of course for like a week, and then I gave up all over again)

I wish knew. But I definitely don't. It was just one episode that caught my eye, I think I really liked Hetal and Koki in that one (trust me, I did not start watching this show for Gopi. Aham eh slightly but not so much, because he doesn't seem to do much beyond stand there and look good)

And as to why I continue to watch/keep up with it somehow...

I don't know the answer for everyone, but for me, it's just to see Gopi stop being so weak. I hate weak female characters, because I'm an utter feminist. And to top everything off the majority of these soaps have the leads being extremely strong characters, so Gopi is definitely a change and people are just waiting to see her break out of her shell.

Of course, with that change, we're all looking for the change in Aham too. I don't if its so much about GoHam, but definitely about Gopi and Aham growing as characters for me personally. The GoHam is just an added bonus😃

Wow, I hope my rambling made some sense😆😆

I watch this show only and only for Kokila. According to me a character like Kokila Modi has never been introduced before.

By the looks of it she may appear to be gray but she is in fact "good with the good and bad with the bad" sort of character. She defends herself without anyone's help, she is strong and does not weep alone . She would punish her vau and dikri equally, not being biased like many other sasuma's in soaps are these days. She may have issues with Hetal and her "working" husband but she never shows it. She respects her and always takes her advice or consults with her about whats best. While I'm used to seeing people plotting against their own family members, Kokila Modi for me is truly a breath of fresh air.

I like her best when she is fuming and swearing and giveing the stink eye to Rashi/Urmi 😆

I watch this show in the hope that something happens! LOL!! Everyday there is hope, a very small hope that something itty bitty little thing will happen! And so I watch day in and day out with this hope in my heart! But alas, nothing happens! In the process the TRPs increase in the false hope!

The CVs (like Diya said) just give us a small carrot in the form of a precap and I watch the next day hoping that the precap is a prelude to better things to come!

Previously when I traveled, I used to be upset that I would miss this show - but now I really don't miss any episode. I read the wonderful updates by Sadhli and Shelly and am content with that!

Well, I wont say it is the best serial. But it is number one currently because of Gohem situation. This plot works in Indian tv industry. Remember Zee tv's Amanat of the 90s? It had the same plot and it stayed in number one position for many many months those days. Such conflicts between husband and wife in serials gain a lot of curiosity from tv viewers.

But if you ask me why I am still continuing to watch it then I have to say its because of Koki. I like her a lot. But umm, these days, even she isnt being what she is supposed to be😕.

Well I answered in the thread just below this one...the one started by imagine...

I will repeat what i said (copy and paste phawwwwwwwwwwww)

why can t they NOT understand that this show is no 1 in whole india

You know why i got hooked on the show, when Aham told Gopi not to leave her bedding on his bed and his mum was knocking on the door, then he pretends to be asleep the whole time, the fact that a mother comes into the room of the son to get the wife so early in the morning, was intriguing then she proceeded to tell her her work in the house.

I wanted to see the developments in the relationship of Gopi and Aham, and why was she sleeping on the floor, i managed to catch up online and started watching the show, but i think the reason the show is a hit is because it's a different type of relationship Gopi and Aham, his a momma's boy, Gopi is a doormat (goody goody too much) and we are all wondering what it is all going to lead to.

Other's have said it's because it's time slot (prime time 7pm) but i think it's more to do with the relationship of Gopi and Aham and how it is going to work itself out.

mom, the reason is the precaps and the CVs intelligence. they know that the show runs on goham chemistry, so what they make is give us a decent goham scene to rave about for a week, like the dandiya dance, cranker scene, etc. so people will anxiously wait what will happen next, while nothing happens, when there is a lull in the story, again we get goham. this is the reason why the show is getting TRP.moreover it shows a different kind of saas-bhau relationship.
