GEC Watch: Star loses 17 GRPs while Colors at No. 2 gains 13 GRPs

At No.1, Star Plus witnessed a slip of 17 GRPs from 396 GRPs to 379 GRPs, while its relative share declined from 27.6 per cent to 27 per cent from Week 1 to Week 2 in the new year, 2011.

The No.1 Hindi general entertainment channel started the new year on a bad note, as the channel saw a decline of 17 GRPs from 396 GRPs to 379 GRPs in Week 2. The relative share of the channel also declined from 27.6 per cent to 27 per cent. At No.2, Viacom 18's Colors gained 13 GRPs from 283 GRPs in Week 1 to 296 GRPs in Week 2. The relative share for the channel also increased from 19.7 per cent in Week 1 to 21.1 in Week 2.

At No.3, Zee TV saw an increase from 224 GRPs in Week 1 to 232 GRPs in Week 2. The relative share for the channel also increased from 15.6 per cent in Week 1 to 16.5 per cent in Week 2. At No.4, Sony saw a decline from 179 GRPs in Week 1 to 168 GRPs in Week 2 and the relative share also declined from 12.5 per cent in the first week to 12 per cent in the second week.

SAB at the fifth position also witnessed a decline from 146 GRPs in Week 1 to 138 GRPs in Week 2. The relative share also decreased from 10.1 per cent in Week 1 to 9.9 per cent in Week 2. At No.6, Imagine TV lost 10 GRPs and managed 76 GRPs in Week2 and had a relative share of 5.4 per cent.

Star One is at No. 7; the channel's relative share is 2.6 per cent for the week, while its GRPs have moved down from 38 to 36.

Sahara One and STAR Utsav have garnered relative shares of 1.9 per cent and 2.1 per cent, respectively; DD1 has 1.2 per cent.

The list of 10 most watched programmes was led by Bigg Boss - 4, grand finale, which clocked a TVR of 6.7 per cent. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta is at No.2 with a TVR of 6.3 per cent, followed by Pratigya and Saathiya Saath Nibhana (with 5.7 TVR each), Sasural Genda Phool (5.4 TVR) and DID Doubles, Na Aana Is Des Laado ( with 4.7 TVR each), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai ( 4.5 TVR), Uttaran (4.4 TVR) and Laagi Tujhse Lagan ( 4.3 TVR ).
