Saathiya team heads to Switzerland

Star Plus continues to innovate as ever as it collaborates with Switzerland Tourism to create a programming landmark in its numero-uno show Saath Nibhana Saathiya by shooting its week long content in the beautiful locales of Switzerland. Switzerland - synonymous with dream sequences in Bollywood movies or the most desired location for mega blockbusters will find new fans in more than 80 million viewers who watch Star plus weekly in India.

Switzerland Tourism has tied up with Cox and Kings, their key partner in India who has been organizing tours for the last 250 years and who have the expertise in both group and tailor-made tours to Switzerland, to handle the logistics of the shoot in Switzerland.

Speaking on this first-of-its-kind innovation on Indian television, Suzana Ghai, Head of Fiction programming, Star Plus says, "It's a great opportunity to bring dream destinations like Switzerland closer to our viewers who otherwise would catch only glimpses in big Bollywood movies. We are confident that our viewers will have a joyride with their favorite Parivaar from Star Plus."

By having a shoot in Switzerland of such a popular soap like Saath Nibhaana Saathiya we get a chance to bring Switzerland's beauty directly to people's homes and therefore, their hearts."

Scheduled to shoot between April 20 & April 28, the cast and crew will leave country on April 19. The show promises to showcase the beautiful sites such Lake Geneva Region, Ticino and Lucerne that would take viewers on an incredible tour exploring the beauty of the city.

The entire cast & crew of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is currently in high spirits. The lead protagonist of the show, Gopi aka Jiaa Manek can't hide her excitement as she says, "When we heard the news, we thought that the creative team was playing a prank on us, but were ecstatic when we learnt that we will be actually traveling. I am really looking forward to it and am sure that all of us will have a great time."

Kokila determined to bring Aham-Gopi closer

Kokila has been trying really hard to bring Aham and Gopi closer in STAR Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, but her efforts are yet to bear fruit. Now when Aham has bagged an international project and will be flying to Switzerland for a meeting with Jigar and Rashi, Kokila assumes Aham will be taking Gopi along as well.

But in tonight's episode, Aham will inform Kokila in clear terms that he wants nothing to do with Gopi and that he has booked a ticket for Kokila and not Gopi. Kokila will be shocked.

A STAR Plus.in source elaborates, "After Nani's departure, Kokila and Aham had a long discussion regarding duties and family honour. She told Aham he can't use Gopi like a puppet. He has to fulfil his duties as a husband towards her. Aham, on his part, is adamant not to accept Gopi as his wife but he relents and lets her stay in the Modi house. Kokila feels the Switzerland trip is a lovely opportunity to get the two closer and she tells Aham to take Gopi along with him on the rip. But in tonight's episode, she will be baffled to know, he the ticket Aham has booked is for Kokila and not Gopi. After Aham leaves for Switzerland, Gopi will be sad and lonely without him. She will miss Aham a lot and cry herself to sleep. Being proactive, Kokila will tell her to pack her bags and accompany her to Switzerland. Gopi will be scared of Aham's reaction when she lands there unannounced, but Kokila will tell her not to worry. Once they reach Switzerland, Kokila will try all tricks to bring Aham-Gopi closer, as she feels that being in close proximity will help their relationship. Kokila will tell Aham she has had enough of Gopi and now he should shoulder the responsibilities of his wife. Aham will have no choice but to tolerate Gopi during train travels, dinners, lunches, cable car rides and more."

Gopi aka Jia is heartbroken and states, "I was happy to know that Ahamji had booked an extra ticket and was hopeful that he would take me along with him to Switzerland, but my dreams were crushed when he told his mother that he wants her to accompany him and not me. I hope he has a great trip and a successful business venture. I wish the best for him and want him to enjoy the foreign country. I don't mind if I am not with him, but I will miss his presence at home, as I was used to seeing him around even if he was scolding me for misplacing his things," she says with a sad smile.

An upbeat Kokila claims, "I feel Gopi and Aham are on two sides of a river and I am the bridge between them. I feel taking Gopi to Switzerland is a great idea and this trip surely will bond them. I know Aham will never disobey me and ultimately he will toe the line."
