scrap - is a note you send to someone, it can be to someone you want to be friends with for example, before you send them the friend request, you may want to be polite and ask first, or if you remember at school, we would pass scraps to each other, but be careful, don't gossip on them, as scraps can be viewed in most cases by everyone in that persons friend list (if limited in that way in the profile preferences, in most cases it's everyone can view them)...so scraps can be a conversation you want to have about anything with anyone on IF, as you can reply to them too.

slambook - is a question and answer situation, so someone will ask something to get to know how you are in real life and you reply to them, that again your friends can view only in most cases.

testimonial - is when you have done something for someone, and that person wants to appreciate you, they will send you a few words of appreciation or in most cases an image that is sweet, showing to you how helpful you were to them. I think it's meant also as a way of encouraging you to carry on being helpful.
