OMG i was about to make same thread and i saw this thread You are so right. these serials are sending wrong messages to indian woman but we still watch it.

i don't agree that it is sending wrong massages like in all reletionship there must be some problems i don't believe if there isn't any but it is called coward torun away from the problem instead trying to work it out.
it is very easy to make and break relations but it is very very difficult to maintain those relations and thats why they are hsowing how women has that strenght to tolarate and try to work out not like others who prefer to run away than suffar.
and this isseu is very common in india if you go poor people house i can say more than 70% duffaring thsi way and in reach people house also you can find thsi kind of women and as in india many parents think that aftre marraige girls are not their responcibility so many times women has to tolarate it

Well.. i think we shud take these serials as pure entertainment only as if we will try to get msg then i dont think there is any msg even today too no matter how much a girl is educated but she has same thinkig that "Bhala hai bura hai... mera pati mera devta hai". now in SP in piya's case if she doesnt behave then how saloni's greatness will be shown as it is saloni only, who taught all her sanskars before that she was living in jungle and tara, aditi were not cultured and sanskari enuf to teach her sanskars.

and about "Astitva.." i m sorry to say but i dont think it was realistic.. how many couples u have seen where wife is 10 years older than her husband.. i m sorry but i dont want a hustband.. 10 years younger to me (say almost a kid)

What message does the indian TV serial want to tell the world..

ASTIVA - if ok for a husband to have an affair and yet wife have wait for him

Betiyaan - is ok for a man to have another marriage as his other wife could not give birth to a SON.. and thus have 2 wife (be happy with a heakthy normal child be it a son or daughter and only good is we see a lady like laxmi standing up for woman rights)

Saat Phere - a lady is abuse and get slappped and people say what family member think..(hey this is a gal life...not a family member issue)

But every film i see is that is alright to get married to another person without proper divorce and there u see the husband returning..what rubbish

There a lot of more i can say about hindi serial..all this movie are viewed by other nationality and they think is alright for an INDIAN woman to be abuse because it is her right to get abuse..

A man has no right to even slap his wife..

Some say it is coward to run away from a problem ..u mean a woman can be beaten but must stay back to clear thing with husbnad..from which world do u come from..WHY MUST THE WOMAN BE BEATEN OR ABUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE

I do hope i see a serial that a woman is able to defeat wholsonmely

I think Sp is not sending a wrong message but shows the reality and the problems that exists today in India and the whole world.

Doing such serials is to show the people what is right or wrong so that people learn from it the good/bad experiences and change their lives into something better for the welfare of their families.

If we take for example the problems and the abuses Pia is facing in the serial from her husband, this does not only happen in India but the whole world whether it is developed or nondeveloped country.

I totally agree with clownmax. In this modern age, no girl will tolerate such non-sense from a husband. A girl who can go against the wishes of her father like brother, must be a strong headed girl. She also took a decent job to look after her/family needs.

Why should she tolerate mean words against her? Specially when it comes to her character assassination! NO ONE should. I like SP but this storyline about Pia, I strongly DISAGREE with.

The relationship between a woman and her husband are quite complex and it is difficult to have set parameters. In the serial it is shown that Sridhar and Pia were madly in love with each other and married against the Wishes of their own family members. Due to turn of events, Shekhar has lost his mind and has started behaving badly. It is just like somebody getting sick.

In these times, the other partner can stick around and work on the problems to resolve them or move on. However there is no guarantee that other person in your life will be better or worse. It's a chance. 😊

i sincerely do not understand all this peopel who say that the girl must stick around when the man get abusive ..so what it was love marriage.a love mariage does not give the MAN authority to abuse his wife...wife should have brain to kick abusive man out of the house..

You don't need to understand. Everybody has different temperament and attitude towards life and relationships. If you strongly feel that Love of your partner is finished if s/he has become abusive and it is time to move on, our society supports it perfectly. However it is also Ok to stick around and see if the love which was there can be won back, as when you marry you commit to be together in happiness and sickness too. A person becoming abusive due to a bad event in life is basically suffering from depression which is a sickness and it is upto the partner to determine the absolute cause of that and see if that is reasonable or not, or the partner is simply running away from responsibility. It is a story, and they can easily add later that SriDhar was suffering from a terminal disease and wanted Pia out of her life and hate her so that she has less pain when he passes away. On the other hand, they may change the story line to show that he has absolutely lost his mind and beyond recovery, and Pia after trying real hard decides to move on.
