The attractive Niyati Joshi who was also a Miss India contestant this year made a splash with Sunno Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai on Sahara One. It was an interesting character of a girl who could read minds and it was loosely based on Mel Gibson's inspired act in the Hollywood flick What Women Want.

But unfortunately the show couldn't live up to the expectations and Niyati made an exit. Now the pretty lass is back with a bang on the small screen playing a very important character in Saat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar. Here's a tete–a–tete with Niyati wherein she talks about her entry in Saat Phere, her new experiences and what went wrong with Sunno Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai.

Let's talk about your role in the show?
I am playing the youngest sister of Akshay Anand (Brijesh) and Sharad Kelkar (Nahar) in the show. She comes home from the hostel and tries to bring the warring brothers together again. That's all I can say for now. I have just started shooting. It's an important character which will go on air from the 3rd week of September.

How did this offer for the number one show on Zee come to you?
I had auditioned for another show that the production company Sphere Origins was planning to produce. After some time, I got a call for Saat Phere instead. I was more than happy to oblige. I am aware that Saath Phere is doing extremely well and is the number one show on Zee.

What went wrong with Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai. Why did you walk out?
Actually after a few months, the channel decided that the entire cast would be changed. Only my father, brother and one or two characters remained the same. Now if you see the show, you will realise that it's a totally new story. It has become a saas bahu story now. It's like they have started a new serial with the same name. Nevertheless, I had great fun portraying that character for 5-6 months. Though it was very hectic, it was special as I played the main lead. It was a good exposure for me.

Let's talk about your background?
I am from Pune and have been coming to Mumbai often owing to my work related commitments. I shifted to Mumbai two years back. I participated in Ms India this year and have done quite a few commercials. I have also acted in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and Ek Ladki Anjani Si apart from Suno… and now Saat Phere. So it's been a nice journey.

Coming back to Saat Phere; how is your look in the show?
They have given me nice knee length skirts and pretty spaghetti tops and halters. It's a very teenage look.

It's going to be long hours for you. How well are you able to maintain your fitness routine? I guess, being a model also, it's very important for you.
Actually I used to shoot for 25-30 days only when I was doing Sunno… Now I am required for only around 15-18 days. So I am being able to devote time to everything including my fitness schedule.

Saat Phere is doing very well. Don't you think the expectations are going to be very high when it comes to your character too?
Saat Phere is rocking and Zee has very good TRPs. Getting a role in the show is an honor. I am happy. It's fun as I have playing my age in the show. I hope things will be very good for me too.

What next?
For now it's Saat Phere and my commercials. If something great comes my way later, I would definitely pick it up.
