A showcase from Sahara One which would have the mums in law and daughters in law sharing a screen space with each other in the reality show.
So what is different is the question that arises. With that we give you a sneak-peek about what is going on in Saas vs Bahu about who can dance, who cannot, who is giving a bad time to whom and a lot more stuff…Read on…
Priya Arya's birthday celebration
When talking about the first day of shoot for Sahara One's reality show Saas Vs Bahu, Priya Arya has sweet memories to talk of, regardless of the fact that since hers was the very first shoot for the show, she was one of the guinea pigs for all the trials and errors.
"We ended up shooting for really long hours, day and night, and all the experiments were on us. And I've been told that we were the sweetest and most cooperative lot. Everything went quite smoothly," says Priya.
And the sweetest thing about the day was that it was her birthday! "Yeah, it was nice to start the show on my birthday and after pack up there was a little celebration and I cut a cake and stuff," she says.
Ouch! Priya Arya is so accident prone!!
How else would you explain someone falling on the sets four times in a single day?! And it all started in the morning itself for Priya, as she says, "I had a bad fall in the bathroom in the morning. Then I fell while getting out of the vanity van. Thankfully the EP Rahul saved my head from being hurt. Then I slipped while getting on the stage for my performance."
But that was not the end of the tripping business for her. The final one was when she fell while performing Jawan-e-janeman! Priya's skirt was a bit too long and it got stuck under a dancer's foot and she missed a step. "And that was my favourite step!" says Priya, "but thankfully I just missed one step, had I missed more, the dance would have been down," she adds. But, it wasn't such a big deal considering Priya managed to get the performance right.
Dancing is not a cake walk for Chhavi Mittal > You'll remember that Chhavi Mittal wowed the audiences and judges with her singing skills in Sahara One's reality show Jhoom India Jhoom. Now as a next step, Chhavi is participating in the channel's Saas Vs Bahu because she wants to explore all the avenues possible to her personality. The actress already had singing experience when she did Jhoom India Jhoom, but dancing is a completely new thing for her!
"I have performed as a singer before but dance is something I have never ever tried, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to explore that aspect," says Chhavi. And, dancing doesn't come easily to her! "I have to put in extra efforts to remember the steps. And then there is stage fear to be dealt with. But I am giving it my best shot and it's been a great experience," says Chhavi. Actress, singer and now dancer… really does seem like she is wants to be the Jill of all trades!
Chhavi Mittal is open for criticism
Though dancing and singing have absolutely nothing in common, Chhavi is prepared for the judges' comments and criticism | |
As she says, "Judges' criticism and harsh comments is part of the business for them and for contestants also. And yes, the experience in Jhoom India Jhoom has made me better prepared to handle the criticism on Saas Vs Bahu. You can't get bothered by it; you either take it or leave it." Looks like the experience has made Chhavi wiser!
Jayati Bhatia made Aroona Irani dance
While participating in Sahara One's Saas Vs Bahu, as if it wasn't enough for a trained Odissi dancer Jayati Bhatia to do Bollywood dance, her first performance was Chadhti Jawani, a song made so famous by the judge Aroona Irani. It was enough to make Jayati nervous and before she began, she went up to Aroona and told her how nervous she was.
Aroona then encouraged by narrating an incident when she was a young dancer in Bollywood herself. Every time during a shoot the dance goddess Helen showed up, Aroona would forget her steps.
Jayati Bhatia gave choreographers a bad time!
There are some who do not cooperate with the dance masters and give them grief, like showing up late for rehearsals… and then there is Jayati Bhatia who is a bit too diligent and takes her dancing too seriously! Apparently so gung ho is the actress about dancing that it has the dance masters cribbing. "I land up on the sets at 8 am for rehearsals. The dance masters get annoyed because they practice with other contestants till 4 am and don't get enough sleep," says Jayati impishly. But then she can't help it because she's a perfectionist and doesn't let go till she has got it right. "I keep rehearsing till I am satisfied that it's 100 % fine. Think I'm really giving the dance masters a tough time," she laughs.
