I was thinking the same thing... Why is Chedi and the Chaturvedi family full of ungrateful, selfish men (minus Dada ji)? In the beginning they were not nice to Toasty's family. They treated Malti like a slave before she left the house. They insulted Nitika and her family numerous times. Chedi turned Ved into a scapegoat for Kiya's happiness. And now this Nani ji track where it's clear that Chedi never apologized properly or did his best to keep the relationship alive between his mother in law and his children. Even though he sent wedding invitations, it seems that he and the family never actually visited her or kept in touch with her through phone calls, letters, etc. I don't blame Nani ji for not showing up if that is the case. Now they're visiting her because they NEED her. It's pathetic.
Malti herself said she didn't want her mother there. I guess she's aware of the problems it would cause and it would create more stress anyways. But she could have gone to her mother's place and stayed with her for a few months if she was worried about the tensions between her mother and her in laws.
I hope Nani ji tortures them as well. They need some discipline.
