WU 3/7: *Bhaang & Chatur's 1st Holi Preparations*

Pashu comes into the hall and asks Tej if he is coming to the store...Tej is sitting on the sofa and says I've been ready for a long time and I was sitting here, waiting for you. Pashu tries to change his target and says I didn't mean you, I meant Ved. Tej picks on him for it and Dadaji picks on him for being late and that Chedi never strays away from his rules and responsibilities. Toasty comes out into the hall calling for Nitika...Tej asks her what hapened and Nitika comes down..Toasty tells her about her acceptance and they are very happy as well as Ved, Tej, and Dadaji. Pashu seems concerned/confused and tells Dadaji, you said your son sticks to his rules but he always changes his mind...now he made me seem like a villain in front of everyone. Ved says neither I or Nitika think like that at all...Nitika nods her head. Pashu says he's surprised at how Pitaji changes his mind all of a sudden...first when the suggestion of Tej marrying Toasty came up, he said no no no but then at the last minute placed a yes vote for Toasty...then he said no to Toasty doing a job and now he is saying yes. Dadaji kind of tries to defend his son..

Gyaan and Prachin run in making gun noises at each other and yelling out. Prachin is pretending to be Thakur and Gyaan Samba and Prachin uses the famous line in his own twist :P Yeh Chaturvedi gar mein itnes aadme hai...they announce that it is Holi coming up and they want some money for preparations. Pashu bends him over and hits his back 😆 Dadaji scolds him a little that he doesn't have to raise his arm for this matter and that he will give money. Pashu says so if Pitaji is not here, we will celebrate Holi too? Dadaji says not just Holi, we will celebrate every festival from now on..and that too in full Chaturvedi style.

Toasty goes into Nitika's room...Nitika is putting some of Ved's clothes away and Toasty gives her a gift. Nitika unwraps it and it is a box with a new cell phone. Toasty says I remembered that Tauji still had your phone. You're about to start back at office again and how will you talk to your pati dev throughout the day. Nitika thanks her and says you think about everyone so much. Toasty says right? It's too much, right? They laugh and then Toasty says she needs to go finish the work as Malti bhabhi isn't feeling well...Nitika says I noticed too...is something wrong? Toasty says nothing as such...actually I think it's something else. She rocks her arms and makes a little baby wail...she and Nitika squeal and Toasty says but I'm not sure and she probably wants to tell Pashu bhaiyya first so we won't raise the matter too much around her...and keep your mouth shut!

Prachin and Gyaan have brought all the things for Holi. They are excited that they finally will have their first Holi and Prachin says he has a solid idea to make this Holi even more exciting, especially for their bhaiyyas and bhabhis...he pulls out thandai and bhaang and tells Gyaan about it. He says the nasha of bhaang is diffferent from anything else and he gives some example stories from his friends. Gyaan says does it really happen like that...Prachin says yes, I think. He says I will make sure that our three bhaiyya and 3 bhahbhis drink this bhaang for sure.

Malti is talking to her mom and it sounds like her mom is giving her advice...Malti says yes I won't eat anything that isn't good for me...yes I won't lift up heavy weighted objects. She says thanks to her and hangs up the phone. She prays that this time no one's evil eye is cast on the family's happiness.

Part 2:

It's the next morning and Toasty gives chai to everyone but Prachin and Gyaan are still sleeping. Toasty asks about the same. Gyaan gets up and starts saying I'm up, I'm up, I'm up. He turns around and everyone starts laughing at him as his face is smeared with color. He asks what the matter is. Ved tells him to look at his face and his answers will be given..but he says it in sanskrit and Gyaan asks meaning? Tej says in plain, modern Hindi...go look at her face in the mirror and then you'll see. 😆 Prachin get up and everyone laughs even harder as his face his covered as well (LOL!! Tej literally falls over on the sofa 😆) 😆. He and Gyaan face each other and laugh at each other and Prachin wonders why Gyaan is laughing at him and others are laughing at him as well and then touches his face and realizes there's color on it and they both start fighting as they had both put color on each other. Tej waves his hand at them to Toasty as Toasty runs over and breaks up the fight and says bura na mano, Holi hai! and the brothers shake hands and wish each other and then hug.

Gyaan and Prachin are mixing the bhaang in the area outside the bathroom (is that the only place they could sit? Couldn't they have found a less conspicuous area?) Gyaan has the bhaang and is adding it to the thandai as Prachin mixes it. Tej comes out of the bathroom and asks what they are doing? Prachin tries to make a cover up story but Tej knows that Gyaan is hiding something behind his back and asks what it is. Gyaan accidentally brings his arm forward as he says nothing, then puts it away again and Prachin nudges him hard. Tej asks what that is and Gyaan pulls it out again and says this...it's bhaang manufacturer's medicine for plants...Prachin says yeah as Golu needs some. Tej isn't buying it and he puts his finger in the bhaang and smirks and smiles at them while bringing his finger to his mouth...Prachin and Gyaan try to deter him by saying its poisonous but Tej licks his finger and nods his head as Gyaan says it's bhaang and Tej nods and says bhaang. So Pitaji is gone and you both are taking full advantage of it. Prachin says bhaiyya, the shop guy said that the nashe of this bhaang lasts 3-4 days...Tej is shocked and says 3-4 days!?!?!?...Prachin says I mean 3-4 hours. Tej gets that naughty look in his face 😆 and asks and how long does it take for it to kick in? Gyaan says that depends on how much you drink. Tej nods his head and says give it here. Prachin thinks he means high five and gives him a five but Tej brings his hand back and says I'll give you one slap now...I mean give me a cup...even I should check to see whether you made it right or not. Prachin and Gyaan pour him a glass while Tej looks around and makes sure no one is there...he drinks the cupful and then smiles and says it's made well and continues drinking it while Prachin says we'll give it to everyone..all the brothers and the bhabhis...Tej chokes and says did you say bhabhis!?!!!! Are you crazy? Do you want us killed? You don't give this kind of stuff to women. Gyaan says why not? and starts a speech on women's rights and how they should get an equal right over it as men...Tej says bas bas bas...you are right, chote 😆 and he says even the women..our bhabhis should have every right in this as well.

Part 3:

Nitika is talking to Smita about how its the first Holi without her..she sees Malti bhabhi starting to get chakkar and stops her convo with Smita and goes behind bhabhi to hold her shoulders and asks if she's ok. Malti says yeah I'm fine...Toasty comes in and asks Nitika in ishaare what happened and Nitika signals that Malti was dizzy. Toasty says bhabhi, I told you not to do all this didn't I? Why don't you go rest? Malti says no, I want to help in this...it's Holi and this Holi there are so many colors of happiness coming into this family. Toasty and Nitika ask like? Malti says Ved getting married...Toasty and Niki say and? Malti says Nitika coming into the house...they says and?...Malti says we're in this kitchen together?...they says and? Malti feels like vomiting for a quick moment and Toasty and Nitika raise their eyebrows at her with big smiles and then walk back towards the sink leaving Malti at the stove to smile to herself.

Pashu has brought clothes for all the men...Gyaan asks new clothes? and Pashu says are you crazy? We just had a wedding, why would I bring new clothes. He passes a kurta to Prachin but Prachin says this is so small! It won't even fit Golu. 😆 Pashu takes it back and gives it to Gyaan saying it'll look good on him. He tells Toasty to give an old white saree to Nitika and to wear an old saree as well. Toasty says if I would have known this earlier, I would have done so but I already bought sarees and gave them to Nitika and Malti bhabhi. Tej says yeah, and I bought new kurta pajamas for everyone as well. Pashu is like what a waste of money...buying new clothes just to get them all dirty with colors. Dadaji says the whole world buys new clothes to play Holi in and here you want to wear old clothes and play. Pashu says I'm not going to play Holi...everyone asks him why? Pashu says arey, I don't like the colors...the last time we played Holi years ago, I had so much color on my face and it wouldn't come off and I couldn't tell if I was a human or a langoor. 🤣 Dadaji says ok then if we accept a matter of yours, you'll have to accept our mater. Pashu says so you'll wear the old clothes? Dadaji says no...we accepted your saying that you looked like a langoor...and now you'll have to wear the new clothes and play Holi with us. Pashu says fine but I'm wearing the old clothes...Dadaji says okay whatever. In the midst of this whole discussion, Gyaan is able to sneak away and hide the bhaang in the fridge and run back out to the hall and pretend he never left.

The three bahus are dressed in their new sarees and are standing in front of their saas's photo. They ask her for her blessings and to keep these colors of happiness in their lives...they each apply some color from their own plates to Ma's feet and wish her a happy Holi. They start to go out but Malti stays back and says you're the first out of all of them for me to tell this...she whispers you're going to become a grandmother :) She smiles and giggles a little.
