when dhuryodhana wasn't able to hit the target (the fish hanging overhead), he asked Karna to do it. Karna would've done it too (because his friend asked him to do it), but on Krishna's ishara, Draupadi insults Karna that he is a sootha putra (born of a low-caste) and hence doesn't allow him to do it. He holds a grudge against her for this reason.
