For those of you who have missed the earlier two series and those of you who are new here, here is an update on what this competition is about…...

IF SRGMP Challenge is a real musical competition in the virtual IF world where our very own IF registered members will record and upload their songs online to showcase their talent and treat us to a musical feast.

The format is very much inspired by the Zee TV musical reality show – SRGMP. We will have 4 Gharanas led by musically knowledgeable mentors. The selected participants from the audition round will fight it out for the top honor under the able guidance of the mentors. Each week, the participants will sing songs based on a predefined theme and upload the songs in the designated thread within a given timeframe. The Management Team will appoint a panel of neutral judges who will listen to the songs and pass their judgment based on some evaluation parameters for every round. Each week a certain allotted number of singers getting the lowest scores will be eliminated and in the end the final winner will be selected. There will be no public voting here but there can be plenty of public involvement as they will also rate the singers and encourage them in every round.

Now let's get going and give you all some very required information on the first round of the upcoming competition .This post will give information on five aspects of the Competition

This team will monitor the whole show-from the concept stage right up to the declaration of the winner. It team will comprise of

2. Competition Format: The format of the competition will be as follows:

A. Audition Round: In this round, members will submit a song of their choice. The songs will be judged by the designated members selected for Audition Round by the Management Team and these members will finalize the top16 participants.

B. We would like you to record any song your choice and convert the same into electronic format (mp3). To know more about how to record, please read up the link provided in the audition form below and later in section 5 under recording guidelines.

C. Members interested in auditioning will need to fill up the following "Audition form" completely and submit their songs by the due date.

D. Audition Screening: After the last date is over, all the audition round entries received will be judged by the Audition Round Screeners and only the best 20 will be selected. The contest will then kick off with these 20 selected participants. The final 20 selected participants will be distributed into 4 Gharanas; each gharana having 5 participants. Each Gharana will be headed by a mentor.

3. Eligibility: Any Indian Forum member who can sing is eligible to participate. We look forward to maximum participation. MID is not acceptable.

B. Must follow Guidelines for Audition Round :

B.1 The song recorded will have no background music of any

kind including voice enhancement techniques such as use

of echo.

B.2 The song you upload need not be a full song. But should

have an Antara and an Mukhra atleast. That's a must.

B.3 Please ensure you use a proper mike so that your true

voice is captured to the maximum.

B.4 Karaoke tracks are NOT allowed.

B.5 A participant can post ONLY one song in the first round

B.6 The Audition form shall be fully filled in and submitted to

the correct ID by the due date
