Himesh Reshammiya claimed to be a bigger star than Kapur when told the actor was doing the grand finale at the award night
I am the greatest: Himesh Reshammiya and Shahid Kapur |
At the Star Gold Sab Se Favourite Kaun? awards held on Sunday night, Himesh Reshammiya had a tussle with the organisers about Shahid Kapur doing the last act.
According to the script, it was the singer-turned-actor who was supposed to wrap up the show. But at the last minute he was told that Shahid's performance would be the grand finale.
Anger management
A source from the organiser's team says, "Himesh was doing the remake of Karz. He wanted to pay tribute to Rishi Kapoor through his performance after receiving his award from the actor.
The crooner was quite excited about his performance until he found out his was not the finale act.
He was furious when he was informed that Shahid would perform last. Himesh told the promoters to change the sequence and allow him to perform at the end. He added that he was the bigger star than Shahid, and that Kapur didn't have any standing in front of him."
Clearing up
The source concludes, "Eventually the channel had to step in and clear the mess. They somehow managed to convince Himesh to start the show and let Shahid end it."
Samar Khan, who put together the Star Sabse Favourite Kaun? says, "There was no problem as such, the channel has the final say in such matters and they took a stand.
Himesh did an opening act for us while Shahid concluded it. It was a rocking show and will be aired on TV either on January 5 or 6." Both Himesh and Shahid were unavailable for comment.
