I believe Sonu Nigham is the best singer in india today, and very much down to earth person, he gives advice to lil champs like they are his own babies. so i feel he is the best mentor we can expect. What u think guys?

Mentor and judges are not same. You can not call neither Suresh wadkar nor Sonu Nigam as mentors in this show. They are judges. There might be some other people guiding the children in singing and song selections.

A mentor is different from a judge in my view , reason being, you call a guru a mentor when the guru takes the responsibility of developing the protege and is responsible for taking forward the proteges in the competition.

Mentoring is not much meaningful in a kids show because the outcome will remain inconclusive with chances of their voice quality changing drastically and their being slim chances of securing career breaks for these child participants.

Yes Gopalbhai is right, the Mentor and Judge are different roles. Generally, 2 mentors are in opposition and 2 judges are on the same side. Problem arises when the Mentors also act as Judges as there will be a conflict of duties. A Mentor should develop and fight hard for his candidate. A good Mentor is one whose student ultimately wins the contest. 😆
