It signifies light and brightness. I have dedicated this song to them. It has been composed and sung by me. Ehsaan Noorani Song Taare zameen par from our movie Taare Zameen Par . Reason I like the song for the lyrics. It uses the word Diwali in the song. Mahalaxmi Iyer Song Deepawali manaye suhani mere Sai ke haath mein hai paani. Reason This is a famous Sai Baba bhajan, which I sing dur- ing the Diwali pooja. I pre- fer family-based songs, because I love to sing when everyone is together. It symbolises collective joy. Shibani Kashyap Song Om Jai Jagdish Hare, Swa- mi Jai Jagdish Hare Reason I like bhajans during festi- vals. I just can't relate to movie songs on an occasion like Diwali. Of course, there are plenty of songs to connote Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi, but sadly, none dedicated to Diwali. Shankar Mahadevan Song Khona jaaye yeh taare from Taare Zameen Par Reason Diwali is always associated with lights but this time, it will be stars too. The song is about children, hopes and positivity I would like . to dedicate this song to Diwali. Shantanu Moitra Song Allah tero naam, Ish- war tero naam Reason I love this song because my dad used to play this song on every Diwali, ever since I can remember. Madhushree Song Pal pal hai bhaari from Swades Reason It symbolises the existence of Lord Ram. It also has a rustic feel to it. Khayyam Song Diwali phir aa gayi sajni, roop ke deep jalao Reason This song reminds you of Ramji's return from van- was and his grand welcome with sweets, crackers and flowers. For me, it is a mes- sage of peace. Jayesh Gandhi Song Jyot se jyot jalate chalo, prem ki Ganga bahaate chalo Reason It gives a feeling of bright- ness and prosperity. I love the lyrics too. Mithoon Song Dipawali bane suhani and Laxmi puja Reason I am a devotee of Sai Baba. The lyrics of the song are very touching. Babul Supriyo Song Kaaalo meyer payer tooleye dekhe jaa aalor nachon Reason I like this Bengali bhajan because it is composed and written by the legendry poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Although a Muslim, he wrote a bhajan. It also high- lights the true spirit of the festival of lights which is celebrated by everyone, irre- spective of caste or religion.
