It is well known that Sonu Niigaam keeps experimenting with his looks (read: hair styles). But of late, he has been spotted wearing a rudraksh mala around his wrist. Generally, people wear rudraksh to invoke positive energies and grace. Looks like the singer is seeking all possible positivity to survive in B-Town.
Always on
"I have recently started wearing a rudraksh mala around my wrist," says Sonu. "I make it a point to wear it all the time. It was gifted to me by the Bangalore-based scientist Sunita Aggarwal. She knows a lot about metaphysics and astrology and I have had long and amazing discussions with her on several scientific subjects." He adds, "I got in touch with her when my mother was unwell with severe arthritis and sought treatment. Later, she gave me this rudraksh mala and ever since I've been wearing it."
Conscious decision
Apart from being a judge on the Zee show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs, Sonu has been living out of suitcases. "I was in Germany last week. In fact, I was shooting for Li'l Champs and after the shoot left straight for the airport. I am back for the shoot of Li'l Champs and then take off for concerts in the country. I will be taking a week's break from November 6 and that's when I will catch up with my sleep," says Sonu.
Sonu has also been missing from the playback scenario. Besides the Agar Main Kahoon track in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, he says he has sung a track for AR Rahman in Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar. "It was a conscious decision to keep away from playback for a while. That is why at present I am concentrating on my shows, besides Li'l Champs."
Sonu is also working on a new album to be released by HMV Sa Re Ga Ma. "This is going to be a unique album; the likes of which has not been seen," claims the singer. "When I started out, I thought it would be classical but it has now turned to be a mainstream album."

Religion begins where science ends but in this case Sonuji is talking about Astrology and metaphysics. The results of wearing a rudraksha is unproven but if it firms up a persons faith and makes him feel positive it may be useful. Agreed that blind faith is one extreme that could be negative but this is all so subjective. 😆
