Karz remake will have 3 songs from the original

By Subhash K. Jha, October 24, 2007 - 09:30 IST

Satish Kaushik's Karz will be very different from Subhash Ghai's original. What will remain are three of Laxmikant-Pyarelal's songs namely 'Dard-e-Dil', 'Om Shanti Om' and the theme song 'Ek Haseena Thi'. This gives Himesh who sees himself as L-P's inheritor, a chance to pay homage to his raga-models.

'Dard-e-dil' is, in fact, one of Himesh's all-time favourite songs. Himesh insisted on having it in Karz. "But even the adapted songs will be interpreted in a new way. They'll be sung and re-designed by Himesh. And just as in the original, the theme Ek Hasina Thi will be used in the background throughout my film", Satish informs.

The fate of Ram Gopal Varma's Sholay notwithstanding, the extended spell of remakes continues. Satish Kaushik is half-way through the scripting of the remake of Subhash Ghai's Karz. But here's the catch.

"My remake will be very different from Subhash Ghai's film. It's of course being done with Himesh Reshammiya's personality in mind. I've the highest regards for Himesh as a musician. My Karz will highlight the protagonist's role as the rock star. I don't want to focus that much on the reincarnation theme. I've done many remakes earlier. Does my Tere Naam look anything like the original Telugu film?" states Satish Kaushik

I think that music is infinite and will go on forever and basically newer and newer tunes will be discovered. With this knowledge locked on to his magic cap, Himeshji will send shock waves throught the Nation. Watch Out!

No offence but could you take this topic to Himesh Fan club or Bollywood section please.

Frankly the Fan club section is so congested that it is not easy to find a person. Unless it is in some sort of Alphabetical Order. I had a hard time going through but some have posted very nice picuters including those of Dipeeka too.

We should have a separate section for Himeshji alone and all his singers. There are many things happening and we need regular updates because we are overseas and do not see much reports unless someone posts it. Luckily dear Komal is very hardworking. Keep up the good work.👏

Moderator's Note:
This topic is on the music review/update of a movie... which is always allowed in the section. So members are requested not to raise issue on that here in the topic. If anyone has any problem they need to use the report button.

Secondly, some members are resorting to innecesant chatting in different threads. That falls under spamming. Even after repeated warnings it is being carried out. Next we will be taking action against such member. Take this as the last warning now.
