Jaadoo bhai:

Lets not forget that Sonu was a Rafi clone too. Sonu Nigam was not made in a day. No singer is original. Everyone idolises someone and develop their own style gradually. Kishore copied Saigal. Kumar Sanu was a Kishore Kumar clone and later developed his own style (although nasal one). Later Babul Supriyo came as a Sanu clone and now he has his own style. This is the circle to playback singers.

Who knows 15 years down the line there might be a long list of singers who copies Emon, or Vinit, or Aneek.

What negative posts? She's trying to make a point. Sorry if that's not even allowed anymore. My bad.. I didn't know that we were only limited to cheerful, happy words to say about everything.

True... why just Sonu clone. Lets keep away with all the Sukhwinder, Nusrat and Kailash clones too.

Just a question now. Can anyone tell one among the contemporary singers who is not a clone of some other previous singer? It is a normal course that you adore one singer and end up copying his/er style of singing. Perhaps the only non-copycat singer is the one who was the first singer here on this earth. Is it possible to get some info on that personality? 😛

@ thakur saab - thank you for making a very relevant point. it's so true not just for singing but most forms of art. you'll find young aspiring writers, painters, composers, lyricists, actors, even advertising copywriters doing the same.. they start out copying the style of their favourite, established person in the field and slowly over the years develop or 'find' their own style.. it's a cycle that's been going on and will go on..

@ appa - for that last line in your post.. aapke moonh mein ghee shakkar! or mysore pak! or mishti doi! 😊 may it come true for all these kids..
