It is so unfortunate that in these so called musical contests, mostly, undeserving contestants win. Public voting leads to the language, regional or any other bias. There are a lot of examples when we see Qazis, RoopRekhas, Sandips etc win and Nihiras, Ameys and Kurunyas loose.
As for the three finalists, all three are good singers ... but, most of the people who know music, or listen to music or sing themselves, can easily decide, who is the best of the three by comparing: best VOICE, Best singing in SUR and TAAL, control of both HIGH & LOW surs. Versatality etc.
In my opinion Raja and Amanat has better voice quality, compared to Aneek (a thin voice), but Aneek is very good in sur and taal. Aneek can go very high and very low, without messing up the surs. Raja is excellent in high surs, but he is not good in lower ones. He always gets tired at the end of a fast number. Amanat is technically the best in Sur and Taal. Amanat is also the most versatile. He sang in every style eg ghazals, qawwalis, romantic, fast paced as well as classical songs. I will put Aneek a close second, while Raja sings excellent Sufi/ high pitched numbers. He tried to sing some slower/ romantic songs but could not deliver. All the trained singers/ musicians always rated Amanat the winner.
In my opinion, Amanat is number one, Aneek is number two and Raja is number three. Unfotunately, due to public voting and above mentioned reasons, I think, Raja will win. How unfortunate.
