Aneek's Hare Krishna Hare Ram was poor...

I'm staggered that no one has made a post about this yet lest they might jeopardise his chances....But to tell the truth, his rendition was Hare Krishna Hare Ram was quite weak

First and foremost,ANEEK CANNOT RAP!!..He raps every single episode,it makes me cringe everytime he gets going....🤢...His voice is ill suited for rapping, his English enunciation is poor,he's a bit slow while rattling off the lines...Even other English lines like "I keep lookin' for you babe", "You keep drivin' me so crazy" and "I keep prayin' all day..all day all night long"..It's a funky quirky song,Aneek's couldn't pull it off....!!He was in tune, but couldnt capture the feel and the mood of the song!!

Secondly, his track was slower than the original, and it didn't work in his favour..The OST is a rast paced racy number,Aneek's voice lacked the depth and the sonorousness the song demanded!!...

Besides,Even Raja's performance in the violin based round wasn't all that..It was incredulous that no one ever commented on that!!..Ismail heaped so much flak on Amanat's Saawariya but totally cut Aneek and Raja all the slack for what were two low to middling performances...😕..Admittedly,Amanat's version of Saawariya had its flaws, but I felt Ismail was being hypercritical of his own contestant....

Anyone sharing these same views??

God your Saawariya siggys are so tempting. I can't wait to watch the movie. The songs are wonderful, looking forward to hearing Amanat sing. 😉

Back to the original topic, I have not seen the episode, so my reply is pretty much worthless. However, I do think that ID is one of those mentors who is very hard on his contestants on and off stage (or so it seems). The other mentors, even if the contestant does poorly, like to encourage and motivate their contestant, forgetting to point out their flaws. ID is sometimes really hard on Amanat, but then I do think that it brings out the best in him.
Will comment more after I watch the performances. 😃

Well the judges and the public loved it . I think he sounded very good. English can be spoken in whichever way one likes, does not mean that the English or the Americans are right. If he spoke like an American, people will say it is a "put on" accent. 😊

No,the bone of contention is not the point that ID chose to criticise Amanat,it's that he wasn't that harsh on Raja and Aneek....

I agree,Raja's Rang De Basanti was bloody awesome...I've heard Amey Date sing the same song on II-2,and I felt Amey' performance lacked the spunk...As a matter of fact,I was always of the opinion that no other singer can match the original, but Raja's performance was almost as good as the original..Had he been in the recording studio, his rendition would be been as good as the original,if not better...Raja definitely sang it better than Daler, who was on the show a few weeks back and performed RDB live...

Why is it that composers use Caralisa to sing the English lines in songs like Dard-E-Disco and Mitwa??...Because her rendition is more pleasing to the ear...

Rap or "Rhythmic American Poetry" or "Rhythm and Poetry" originated in the US and the roots can be traced to the Caribbean and West Africa...If Aneek cannout sound authentic,he better not rap...Just akin to how someone sounding extremely fobbish can't pull off a R&B number!!!....😊

Aneek is just a young kid, and as he grows up his English will improve as well. He has not had the opportunity to mix around yet, but based on his exposure and circumstances he is very good.
