In todays episode both Amanat and Aneek sang Kishore Kumar songs, Amanat sang Ek Haseena Thi while Aneek sang Meri Umar Ke Naujawano (sic) both songs from Karz with music by Laximikant-Pyarelal.
Amanat was outstanding in his song, he captured the feel and soul of the song, though its impossible for anyone to match Kishoreda, Amanat justified singing the song ......
as against this Aneek's was struggling, he just couldnt capture the feel and soul of the song (obviously chosen keeping in mind the love story drama) even HR admitted (though a bit hesitatingly) that Aneek's performance was not good ..... Aneek's so called versatality lay exposed .....
Amanat has proved his versatility by singing song ranging from classical to club without any hiccups ..... Aneek sounds shrill and feminine when he tries to sing any song other than Sonu Nigam's. to make matters worse he is playing along with HR to advance the lousy love story ......
So all this hype about Aneek being a complete singer etc. etc. lay exposed today ..... special mention must be made of Vishal comments (who i find to be , alonwith Shekhar, the only fair judges on the show) on Amanat wherein he was filled with praise for Amanat.
Aneek needs to concentrate on his singing and shud remember that his mentor HR is more interested in making his own career as an actor,singer,composer ..... he wudnt have time for aneek just the way he has left vinit in the lurch .....
edit: HR said the song isnt "aneek's kind of song" well .... how considerate of HR, cudnt he have said the same when raja sang pardesi ..... HR you stoop lower with every passing day
