First and foremost congratulations for making this fabulous show of sa re ga ma pa. It is a great show for giving hidden great artists a platform to "voice" their talents and to gift the music industry its next generation stars. A show which is not only about music but also about encouragement, love, appreciation, team spirit, and a "healthy" competition (the last only one until now)
Off late the viewers have been noticing that the show is also becoming more about "favoritism", "fan-following" and the likes! The mentors seem to have their own favorites and keep promoting them even if it means giving a blind eye and a deaf ear to their other students who may be more deserving than their so called "popular" students. The creative heads may think that is adding spice to the show. But since when has Sa Re Ga Ma Pa come in the league of becoming the next "mistress of spices"... that can be left to all the saas-bahu sagas and they will be enjoyed there.. But why people watch sa re ga ma pa is because they want to hear beautiful melodies not witness the feeling of melancholy that some worthy talents could be feeling on the stage when their gurus pick their co-students over them as favorites in front of an audience of lakhs of people across the world!
The true "king" and queens will stay on the top by winning people's hearts no matter how much false hype is created around the other over rated so called "pop-star". On Saturday's show – Aug 25th in US, we witnessed a very unpleasant, immature and an unexpected showcase of this nepotism when except for the guru's of Hit gharana (who have by far maintained a much disciplined, level headed and the most polished presence on the show), all the other mentors called their favorites only on stage. When Bappi Lahiri summoned Mauli and left Sumedha behind it was unkind. The comparison between Raja and Aneek by Himesh was uncalled for. Both are brilliant, outstanding and have been consistently giving great performances. None of them is the "under-dog" and the "King" will remain the King no matter what! But has anyone thought how de-motivating and humiliating it would be for the other talent "powerhouses", "Mahabalis", "barbie dolls" and the new generation Rahat Fateh Ali Khan!!
This is to all these truly deserving contestants and to the uncrowned "King" of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa–
"To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest!" We are with you….
