Gifts out-of-work lyricist Sudhakar Sharma Rs 2 lakh to ease his financial problems

Helping Out: Himesh Reshammiya
After delivering hit music for Abbas-Mustan's Humraaz (2002), music director-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya and lyricist Sudhakar Sharma never worked together again. Sources say they had an ego clash and parted ways.

Since then, Reshammiya has touched dizzy heights while Sharma is now out of work. But few know that before Aap Kaa Surroor hit the theatres two weeks ago, Reshammiya invited Sharma to his place and gave him a cheque of Rs 2 lakh.

Tough times

Sudhakar Sharma
Says Sharma, "Himesh gifted me Rs 2 lakh and even said we may work together again. I have been going through a tough time and have done little work since Humraaz. I still can't forget the days I worked with Himesh. We worked on many films and our songs were super hits."

So what went wrong? Sharma replies, "After Humraaz, I went to Himesh a couple of times but did not figure in any of his upcoming films. We drifted apart. Now, I am looking forward to working with him again. He has become very big. It will be great if I can write for him."

Gone are the days when lyrics were written first. Nowadays, music directors choose the lyricists and ask them to write to their tunes!
So why didn't Sudhakar get any work?

"Wherever I went, filmmakers and music directors only wanted to know what went wrong between Himesh and me. They were only interested in gossip and not work," Sharma says matter-of-factly.

Reshammiya was unavailable for comment, but a close friend of his tells us, "Himesh has nothing against Sudhakar. He never makes enemies. He is very kind and cannot see anybody in trouble times so he decided to help Sudhakar out."

Jai Mataji let's Rock and Rock Again! We are back in business ! Himesh's works have plently of soul, which many would have noticed. He will get it either from any place it is hiding; the Sufis or the fakirs or street vendors, western beats and discos or anywhere else for that matter.
