I personally think himesh is right and they should sing the songs that suit their voice and not focus on choosing differnt types of songs because if they try to be different and mess up (like Mauli) it could be the end for them at this point in the show.

Okay...in my opinion...it is one's choice what to sing...some people are saying who chose the song for her....it was her choice...not anybody elses....nobody is forcefully pulled into singing some song....that's not how it goes...and another thing....its the contestant's responsibility as a singer...to practice and be in tune in every episode....everyone makes mistakes but not everyweek....like Mauli....and for versitality i think it matters....if u don't have the versitality factor than you shouldn't be at the top.....last year's Nihira was sooo versitile, so was Himani and Hemachandra and Vinit and so on....my opinion....

She has been consistantly bad so maybe the problem does not lie in her choosing "songs that don't suit her" but more the fact that she is unable to sing more than a couple of songs.

When she sings bad, the judges make excuses for her, her fans say she did not choose the right song, everyone else say she chose the "wrong song". Well then when is she gonna choose the right song??

Maybe all those eliminated contestants didn't choose the right songs either. how about that?

Yes!!!👏 That's what I feel too!😃

As I see it, there are no rules that contestants can't sing one type of song or that they must be versatile. It's just the judges who bring up that issue, and to be frank, the judges have no direct say in who wins this contest.

I think the onus is on the contestant themselves to make the decision, and try to strike the right balance between versatility and strength. Should they sing different songs and risk slipping, or should they sing the same type and risk monotony in their performances? It all depends on how they perceive their audience.

For instance, some people might prefer to have Amanat sing all songs in the genre he is strongest at, but others would get a little bored if he doesn't try anything different. I kind of agree with Vishal that it's time Amanat tried something really different once in a while.

As for Mauli, if she can sing 10 songs of the same type and they sound as good as Maiya, her fans will be happy. If she can still get votes despite singing badly, then why wouldn't she get votes if she just stuck to her strength.

IF a person happens to have a versatile voice, they should bring that out and represent that as their strength.

Like Aneeks rap, sufi song, and rafi song.

IF a person is not versatile, they should stick to the genre that suits their voice. Otherwise their weaknesses will come out.

ie. If Kailesh Kher decides to sing Dus Bahane it would sound funny.
