Barnali ji, I am guessing that today may be last day for this MOW so I will like to say, that I am glad that I had access to internet while away from home and managed to ask you questions. U had asked me this question earlier too. and even then i had chked the net and every possible article/book with me on Lata.But nothing was mentioned as to this info. Infact now i am having doubts as to the validity of the information too. I hav complete detailed biography of lata and even in that booklet there's no mention of such fact.

Thanx Sunil 😊 my choice would be Yalgar Gharana. Reason being somehow i feel Ismail durbar is a better guru/teacher than others present now.During C-2005 too i had noticed how his gharana contestants improved steadily with time.So under such a guru chances of success is always more.

On relex action i just move my head sideways, at times even with a jerk.😆

Both... but when it comes to bengali songs i prefer only the old ones.As per my own taste i feel the quality has degraded there.

Yes true dolly.She was then loaded with too much of work.During that period for almost every established MD female voice meant lata and only Lata.Thats why she had refused to hrishikeshda.

Lata composed music for the first time in 1955 for movie "Ram Ram Pavhane". Later in 1960s she composed music for following Marathi movies under the psuedo name of 'Anand Ghan'

Lata won Maharashtra State Government's best music director award for the movie 'Sadhi Manase' and the song 'Airanichya deva tula' from the same movie received best song award.
