Mauli's selection in the last episode exemplifies the shamelessness of the judges in SRGMP (including the Mahaguru).
Obviously it appears that she has a big fan following. And what is responsible for her popularity? It is nothing but her looks....and it is rather a disturbing trend these days that if you want to 'sing', you have to 'look' good these days. God knows what's the correlation between looks and singing!
Mauli can be best described as a one-song wonder! Then why promote someone like her who has the least vocal range, goes besura quite frequently, sings flat, and can sing only one song well? If looks were all that important, then why not declare her a winner already? What is the need for a so-called competition?
I agree with Javed saab (in another show) that now looks and performance are such a priority in these contests, then why not bring top models in a singing competition, and declare him/her as a winner based on their popularity quotient, instead of all the drama of having a contest whose winner is already 'fixed'.
It does seem that other singers (who are better) are there only to support this lead character (Mauli), and it is nothing but a farce to have a so-called 'viswayudh', when actually the winner is already decided! The true music-loving public is only being taken for a ride.
****** If they had an upright conscience, if they really cared for her long-term career, they would have supported her being out of this competition (so that she train herself better, and get selected on the basis of her singing and not looks at a later stage).
Of course Mauli cannot be held responsible for her selection. It is the judges who are to be blamed. What they appeared to keep under the wraps has now been exhibited by these MDs **** (I dare to use this word, as that is the nearest term that I can think of) of these gurus (would of course exclude VS from this), and she should understand this for her own good.
**Viewbie note - Title and a part of the post edited as its attacking the judges.. Do not use such words against the judges**
