Himani's father raised his voice much to the displeasure of the crew members present there. Finally, they could persuade him by asking the designer to make her strap broader. As a result, the shooting was stalled for a few hours.
Payaol Patel, creative director of the show said, "The dress which Himani was wearing wasn't that revealing. It just had thin straps. But, Himani's father would not let her wear it. We thought he would see reason. But, he was adamant and kept on interrupting the shoot. He wanted the straps to be broader. Finally, we had to stitch a piece of cloth on to the straps, to make it broader."
When asked for her version of the story, Himani said, "It was not entirely my father's fault. Actually, I hail from a small town in Haryana, where we were not used to wearing such revealing dresses. My father is quite conservative and had never seen me wearing a dress like that before. I guess I am the one to be blamed, because I did not say anything when the dress was being finalised. I also felt uncomfortable after I wearing it."
Himani shifted to Mumbai with her father about two years ago. Ever since, her father had been escorting her on her shooting venues. "I know the shooting was stalled because of the costume issue, but, I prefer is my father is around while I shoot. His presence boosts my morale," she added.
