Anu: Team winner is Against Team as total point of Against(43.90) is more than For(41.80).

It was fun debating with you all... 😊

other possibility:

"for" team won because it had the winning argument/ debator. 👏👏👏

sum of parts is not always equal to the whole. it still takes only one einstein with a mere IQ of 170 to come up with something that a thousand guys cannot. 😛intellectual output is not exactly additive😆

Ab ispe bhi mat debate shuru kar dena mere bhai 😆

But since CB has brought up the issue - I'll also express my views.

I'm grateful for Raj for going through a lot of effort and coming up with a numbered system of determining the winners, but quite frankly, most of those numbers went over my head. DM members will probably be able to understand them, but this is SRGMP forum yaar. We're primarily concerned with our mentor, and whether he won or lost. Yeh sab numbers samajh nahi aate.

When I participated in this debate, I wasn't aiming to win the title of best individual debator (I didn't even know that was on), but simply aiming to win the debate against Bappi da. I prefer the idea of judging the debate, rather than the debators. Bole to, as I saw it, this was a court case against Bappi da, and we wanted a simple 'guilty' or 'not guilty' verdict. Give us a Yay or Nay, not digits.

Again, this is simply my opinion - one I hope will be considered for the next debate.

i presented another possible interpretation. would we rather that people dont present alternative views? i would like to leave my viewpoint up there without it being characterized as a debate whenever😊

would be happy to take credit for bringing up the issue. just wish it were true though. 😛why do you suppose i started with "other possibility"? come on yaar, dont give me credit for bringing up the issue when it had already been raised, when it had already been suggested by a member of the against team that the against team had won😆

good shot. but, again doesnt happen to be the case unless i missed it somehow. but i appreciate the fact that someone cared enough to present the criteria.

by the way, someone might want to clarify whether we should view IF as a bunch of separate sections/ forums.😊

1. good to hear that u dont think i was debating.😉 but unlike what u suggested, i think the comprehension problem is all yours 😛- if we want to be so technical about things, well let me then suggest that i was simply stating my preference for having my viewpoints up there not being construed as debate. did i gripe that you were accusing me of having started a debate?😕

if anything, my comment was simply directed at how i'd like my own views to be interpreted. yours was some kind of a preemptive statement, directed mostly at me. how does that work? members can unilaterally ask others to refrain from debate/ discussion? and that too in fairly pointed personal ways?😉

hope we could clarify here as to where the comprehension problems lie😛😆

2. lol. again, i did not raise the issue. i was simply suggesting alternatives to the unofficial one-sided interpretations already raised. and those interpretations are unofficial, you know. all the statements and victory laps aside😆

3. yes, and as a member of both sections, i was suggesting that i found the analysis on-the-mark and highly laudable. my opinion, as a member of sgmp. why would u want to make anything of that now?😕😉

Look below. The Dev Team member who handled this contest has announced the team result. How much more official can we get? Would you like us to call Raj to post his official, signed, and sealed declaration on this thread? 😉

But here The Against team walks away with the cake 😛 👏

This is what I was worried about. When you use all these numbers, certain people begin to have doubts about the interpretations of the results. That's why I have asked for a straight decision one way or another.

Or even if you have to use mathematical representation, use separate representation for team arguments - instead of adding up individual argument points.
