MUSCAT — Harmony Events will be staging a concept-oriented musical show Jodi No. 1 at the Le Grande Hall, Al Falaj Hotel at 8pm tomorrow. The show will be 'a musical tribute to the famous legends of Bollywood'. Hrishikesh and Prajkata, the couple who catapulted to fame as finalist in Indian television channel Zee's famous Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as well as Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu will be the star performers of the evening. The two singers, who are a couple in real life too, have been chosen for their tremendous potential as singers.
"Bollywood has had a lot of pairs who have become famous as pairs. Through this show we want to highlight the contribution of these couples by reliving those pairs through our performers. The performers will be reliving the songs and dances of actor-actress combination such as Rishi Kappor-Neetu Singh, music director combination such as Laxmikant-Pyarelal, music director-lyricist combination such as R. D. Burman-Gulzar combination to name a few," briefed Seema Rasal, of Harmony Events at a press briefing.
Giving company to the star performers Hrishikesh and Prajkata will be the local talents who will be dancing to the tunes of various songs both new and old Hindi numbers. From the golden oldies like Hawaa Me Udtha Jaaye to the peppy Kajra Re will be some of the numbers that will be performed at the show.
"The programme will be of two-and-a-half hours duration. Though we would like to showcase as much as possible through the show, we would be concentrating on the most popular numbers for the show," Seema added.
"We would also like to insist that this is an entirely an entertainment show and not a competition," Seema clarified. There will be raffles and surprise gifts as part of the show. Hrishikesh and Prajkata who have performed earlier in Muscat said: "The last time we performed the theme was semi-classical and we were thrilled with the audience response. This time the mood is peppy and popular along with a blend of old and new, so we expect the crowd to be as responsive or more. We are grateful to Harmony Events for giving us this opportunity," they added.
