I know one thing that his brother got in a bad mortocycle accident where he died. After that Himeshji was forced to start working at the age of 16. I think Salman Khan felt sorry for his situation and then gave him a part in his movie.

I saw an interview with him where he expressed the death of his brother.

HR has been giving background music for television serials for quite a few number of years and in fact, must have been pretty popular, as he was doing the background score and title song for quite a few number of shows on all channels.

It is only after his long stint in television that he has started film music and maybe Salman Khan gave him his break in bollywood.

Rani jii I heard that, He and Salman's sis were together...and then she died....and that's who's kid Himesh has..(Sallu's nephew) and thats y Himesh goes around saying Salman Bhai..now it may be that his brother died too..but this thing about Salman's sis..is what my mom told me, she had heard along time ago. (Years from Today..)
