TV is as much a medium for listening as Radio is. Many people like to hear good singing while WATCHING the person sing. Does NOT mean that they are intersted in watching these singers dance or perform other things. Most people consider and recognize SRGMP as PRIMARILY being a show about excellence in singing. And to your other point that "Sameer is an all rounder". I'm someone who follows cricket very closely. And I can tell you that a definition of an allrounder is someone who is very good at multiple-things. It does NOT stand for Jack-of-all-trades.

I fail to see how Sameer can be classified as an all-rounder when he hasn't even excelled in the most important thing (singing) yet. He's novice at best.

When i said about the radio what i meant was that 90% of the people who watch a reality show on the TV are very ordinary people like me who use both their eyes and ears while watching TV and for us very ordinary people it is very difficult not to see the performance and the charisnma and the stage presence as well.

I agree with u that the other 10% are very highly intellectual ,sophisticated and mahatma type people who can focus just on singing and singing only and can shut out everything else which is difficult for the so ORDINARY people like me.Thats why I suggested the radio.

As far as sameer's singing is concerned my ears find him a good singer and if u don't want to trust my ears then u have to atleast trust the highly musical trio(i trust Bappida not so much though) who I think have given him the maximum number of A+s,so if i go either way he is an excellent singer.

Gone are the days when SRGMP was considered a singing show only .The producers have changed with time and now it is as much focussed on performance as it is on singing.Remeber the EMET.

As far as allrounder goes ,just to let u know that i am an Indian and i love cricket and i know what allrounder means ,my fav being Kapil Dev.When i used the word all rounder i did'nt mean it as jack of all trades master of none,i meant it exactly as it is meant to be used,good in everything.Sameer is an all rounder for me.

Ani- IMO, your long drawn justfification is very inappropriate aurgument.

Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Lata, Asha, to name a few can not be classified as all-rounders as per your definition. which does not mean that they are not good playback singers, which is the key objective of SRGMP show.

In the quest to be an all rounder, I am really afraid these talented kids will end up being 'jack-of-all, master-of-none'-- Sameer is close to this!

Having said this, Sanchita proved in the Banaras performances that she can not only excel at sur and taal, but can also move the audiance 👏

I would appreciate if u would not mix up the names of the Godesses of music i.e Lataji and Ashaji in a reality show discussion.I don't think anyone on this forum is qualified enough to discuss the legends over here.So lets keep that issue totally seperate.

Having said the above i don't know how u inferred from my post that to be a good playback singer it is necessary to be an all rounder.I never said that.Its my personal opinion that sameer is an all rounnder,i don't know how u connected the two.

SRGMP is as much focussed on the other aspects as it is focussed on singing because the trend is changing now,we just don't have the audio CDs now,we have videos and the singers act in them,they do stage shows etc and i personally think that it is good if a person knows how to carry himself on the stage along with singing,nothing wrong with that.

Karunya is an excellent singer,i have watched his shows two times and as much as the crowd loved his singing ,they totally went wild when he did the dance steps along with singing.The trend is changing now,the audience has changed and there is nothing wrong in having that extra zing in you.

I totally agree with u on Sanchita,that proved that she can rock the stage along with singing,no doubt about that.👏

DOn't know about u guys, but the thought of this being the last week in SRGM LC is depressing. Imagine, life without these wonderful kids! They have made me look at Indian school children with new eyes. Who knows, who is the next chupa rustom!!!

The little master just rocked the show,he was fantastic,although my fav is sanchita but I was totally blown away by sameer's performance today,so much charisma and stage presence with woderful singing.

Sanchita is the best singer but the little master is the best all rounder👏👏
