Govind ji, Pradarshini is the word for "Exhibition".

You could be right Deepak. But my knowledge with Marathi, which is same in grammer as Hindi, (even though I am not an expert in languages) says that pradarshini should also be same as pradharshit. Pradarshan as we use in Hyderabad, is an event. Pradashini may be the correct word used in Hindi belt. I think all these words come from a Sanskrit word Darshan which means an apprearance. Darshit is an object. I really do not know the meaning of "Pra". It probably came from other words and could mean magnanimous (huge). Like Pra-laya, Pra-kruti, pra-sthan or pra-stut.

Govind ji, I think there is a distinction between Display and Exhibition, Display being a verb and Exhibition a noun. Atleast that what I had in mind when I wrote Pradarshini.

Display is a noun and a verb depeding on how it is used.

I want to display my art -- here it is a verb

Here the meaning of the word would be pradarshit as in--

?? ???? ??? ??? ?????? ???? ????? ???

Come to see the display of my art -- here it is a noun.

Here the meaning of the word would be pradarshan

???? ??? ???????? ?? ????

Thank you Salil for your illustrations with English and Hindi. I am sorry but I have some questions to you. As I explained I am not an expert in languages (now I even forgot what is what in grammer). But from my logic the word display is used differently in English as well as Hindi in the first illustration. Please, correct me if I am wrong. In the first illustration, in Enlish is surely a verb. But in Hindi translation "Hoon" is the verb and pradarshit is again shown as an act. Now that act is adverb is it (I totally forgot). The in the second illustration it is noun in both languages.

By the way we had Sawni Shende Sathye's concert on Sarturday, Sept 23rd here in Portaland, Oregon. In the first half she presented Rag Bhimpalas in three diffrent layas (beats). Then she sang Mishra Khamaj and them Kalavati. She ended the concert with Ragamala and Meera Bhajan. It was very good program. I am wondering if you had it in your area. I thought they had at least one in Oakland. Also, BMM convention for next year is in Seatle. The registrations started already.
