I have already posted my list but I just wanted to make one point about Rafi saab. Unlike the singers of his era (or for that matter any era), Rafi saab was the singer with the highest range. No singer has sung songs of so many different genres and excelled in each of them equally. This episode, therefore, should cover Rafi saab's songs of all different genres to pay tribute to his extra-ordinary range that was/is not seen in any singer of any era. I would just list few songs of each of the different genre that he excelled in as an example---

i didnt post my list for asha retro too...simply cant choose..but if i were to chose one song it will be...

"aaj tho tere bina neend nahin ayegi
aaj ki raat badi shokh badi natkhat hai.."(NAI UMAR KI NAYI FASAL)

i chose this song because my dad used to sing this song at those army parties(in every station!!!)it is a sort of serious song but he made it so entertaining....brings back childhood memories..sorry for the sentimentality 😳

much as i love rafi..28 sept is lata mangeshkars b'day..
may be we can have retro week after next..

just a suggestion, over months we may have several latha specials,so let us have retro 1,2,3 etc with special themes or it is difficult to us to make a list and for the mods to pick a dozen songs.
