I was watching The Great laughter challenge yesterday.

One comedian was discussing about How a man came to Anu Malik and asked him if he could be his assistant. Anu Malik asked him what are his qualifications? The man told him he loves to compose music and write songs.

Anu Malik asked him if he knew English. The man replied in negative. At this Anu Malik cursed him out.

Jo itni CD's aur tapes bahar se aai hain, uska translation tera baap karega??😡😡😡

This was just a joke but it raises a question. The most succesful MD's are churning out so many songs that working for a year or two will be good enough to make enough money to last for life time. Why take the pains to compose or write two songs in three years and be below the poverty line. You think this "cut and paste" is going to be a trend for the new MD's to come.

Maybe it holds good in every aspect of life, not just music.

The story writers have run out of ideas to write stories and are churning out the same scripts for movies/ television shows/ plays again and again.

When I watched Bold and Beautiful, I thought to myself that Indian television will at least not go down to this level and we will have some sensiblities left with us. But alas today, Kekta rules the roost and she is "inspired" by the complicated relations of the soaps of the west that not a single heroine of her show is able to have a sucessful marriage.

Plays and theatre, which was one good source of entertainment, now churn out the same slap stick (read INTERNET HUMOUR OR EMAIL FORWARDS!!!!!!) comedy every 3 - 4 months, get some popular film/ tv star to feature in it and pass it of as a good Theatre 🤢🤢 The old school of thought is dying everywhere.

In a few years from now, CNTRL C + CNTRL V will take over our lives. Will we do this to ourselves too?? Will I end up doing a Crtl C + Crtl V of my life as well???🤢

You know I was watching an interview of Vishal and Shekhar, and they were talking about their music for the movie Golmaal.
They said about the title song that it was an original beat that they tried because they were trying to be innovative. The song is a hit of course, but when I heard it, I realized that the beat is exactly like Sean Paul's Temperature!
If they had to copy, atleast they could have not claimed that the music is original.

😆😆😆 you are right they should not cheat like that😕

I have yet to find a music director who may have said that their work is a copy of so and so. I am not saying that it is not possible..probably there must be few MD's who may have given credit to the original.

I feel Vishal Shakhar must be thinking How many average Indians are going to watch Sean Paul's Temprature and than object about their song. What if you are caught..every body is copying..you are one of them😃

copy or no copy, If it was not for Vishal and Shekhar(and their likes) would we get to hear this kind of enchanting music😉

😆😆 Well, I heard Temperature before I heard Golmaal, which is why I could recognize the similarity (that might be because I live in the US), but you are right, those in India might not have heard it and will get to hear it that way...

I understand copying English movies since a lot of people in India don't watch English movies so that way they get to see something different, but what is bothering me is how much we are remaking old movies these days....they are remaking Don, Kabhi Kabhi...I mean, have we just run out of original ideas?

Well remixes are modernized generally but old movies aren't. Don't know about Don and Kabhi Kabhi but Devdas and Parineeta were kept in the old style but with different actors, a little better sets and just a different feel. They still maintain the beauty of the story, while remixes have such a loud beat that you can't even hear the words anymore.

I agree - I cant get myself to accept movies like Sholay, Don and Umrao Jaan being remade.... I mean these were some directors creation and how can someone else present the same thing again, and think that people will accept it 🤢

As for Devdas or Parineeta, I think the difference lies in the fact that these are originally based on some great stories and the directors over different times have got inspired from the classics and presented their own interpretation... Though to me Dileep Kumar's Devdas is a lot lot more apealing that SRK's one😳
