I did go to Toronto & Niagara Falls. I don't go much out so had a wonderful time.

At the risk of spamming I'd like to say, nice to hear from you again Manjudi! I'm glad you had a good time on your vacation...niagara falls is soo beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks for answering varsha ji. I completely agree with your positive points. Now-a-days we have drug problems even in INdia too, that's what I hear too. You are right, family environment makes a lot of difference otherwise we are concerned about them being lost between two cultures & fogetting about Indian culture.

As a parent raising children I would have the same concern whether I was raising my sons in this country, India or any other country. This contry's schools and colleges do makes our children more well rounded people. Besides education there real life lessons, extra curricular activities and than some they learn during school and college days. They learn to be independent thinkers, Pubic speaking which is positive thing and helps them in their lives as they get older and get married and so on.

While my kids were growing I was afraid of drugs in school but that concern is still out there in any other country. As long as the environment that they are being raised, family, Friends are good than kids will turn out good. They will have sense of right from wrong and will make right decision.

Times are very very different for these kids compared to when you and I were kids or in our youth. We need to give them a bit space to make their own mistakes to learn but be there to guide them. Finally Hope for the ๐Ÿ˜ƒbest.

Dear Varshaji, you and Zahida were the first ones to interact with me when I joined this forum. Though this initial interaction petered away and we inhabited different threads most of the time, it's nice to know that you are somewhere around in this forum. Difficult to explain this feeling actually, being happy that someone I hardly know is somewhere round the corner, and can be accessed of needed. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I saw your thread on meeting Hema, and realised that you were such a child at heart. I hope Hema feels sufficiently honoured to have a fan like you. ๐Ÿ˜Š

You come across as a very capable person, who is full of affection for everyone, who values every relationship, who can handle any situation with maturity.

Just thought I would express my thoughts here.

Great going so far MPLji ๐Ÿ‘

Suppose few years down the line, you feel like going back and settling down in your motherland, which place would you it be and why?

What kind of adjustments in your lifestyle do you think you will need to make to have a smooth transition?

Hope you don't mind my asking these Qs.

Hello Chitraji,

Thnak you and how are you? Funny that you ask this question. I do not mind these questions at all. There is no way we would move back to motherland India 100%. We have lived here in this country for almost 31 yrs now next mo. Our kids were born and raised here. While they were being brought up they did not have the priviledge of having grand parents. In children's lives grand parents are very important. I would never ever be able to do something like that to my sons or my future grand children. Since we love going back to India every two years The option that we have thought is possibly going there 3 months a yr and live here for 9mo out of a yr. This is all when we retire completely which is almost 8 yrs from now for my husband. For me it is more yrs than that.

We are from Mumbai so we would consider some where close to Mumbai like Pune or something that sort. First couple of yrs we will just rent a place where we think we may want to be. Figure out if that works for us than plan buying something for us. Upkeep and maintenance of property is very difficult these days. We are planning to be in India this winter for 3 wks and scope out some areas for that partial retirement place. It will be a huge change and transition I am sure.

We will have to remember how open minded we were when we first moved to US. We have to keep the same approach when we do try that part time stay in India. Our sons also love coming to India so I want them to have that option too. Hope everything will work out for the best.

It is big cultural, social, economical change we will go thru someday but My husband has a big desire to go live there atleast part time and I am open to that. As long as it does not put a cramp in our own personal life ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wow, I just loved this response MPLji. Its a very balanced and well thoughtout reply. I am really sorry if u found this Q a bit funny.

Its so nice to know that u want to be there for your grandkids and be a part of their upbringing. ๐Ÿ‘

I have come across many people who moved out of India around 2-3 decades back, spending a part of the year in India nowadays. They just mingle around, travel and catch up on the cultural scene etc. I liked this concept so much that's why put the Q. to you.. Thanks once again..

(As you had responded to one of the Qs. that you like tropical beaches and palmtrees etc. how about Goa?)๐Ÿ˜Š

Dear VT,

This is my first critque on your reply. When Kunti uttered her words, she did not know what Arjuna was saying. He used wrong word "Bhiksha" for his wife Draupadi. Now YudhishTira did not object because Mahabharat showed him as a weak but knowledgible person. He could not have earned a wife by his own herioics. So he is the one who said that mothers words can not be betrayed. In the whole Mahabharata he depends on either Bheema or Arjuna. Also Krisha came at the same time and explained that Draupadi asked for 5 different characteristics in her husband to Lord Shiva. Shiva told her that it is impossible for one person to have all those skills but he can give her 5 hubbys. Now you also mentioned that she could have told Draupadi that Karna was not a "Suta putra". How could she? She was not even present at the ceremony and was not aware of the Swayamwara. YudihshTira waging Draupdi was one flaw I say in Mahabharata. He was portrayed as the person who has won over all the vices. It shows that even his mind could be clouded by the gambling. Why other brothers did not object shows total trust in older brother.

Thanks Adi for Qs. I may be starting some controversy here with my answers. I am against alot of things which happened in Mahabharata epic story.
