Hi Anu – lets begin on a serious note. I asked some of these to Kavita. Now, I would like to know your opinion on the following statements as well, and I think some of your responses will be quite different from hers 😛
They are really tough di.. Will try to answer it to the max of mine.. Hope u enjoy them 😊
Do you agree to them, why or why not?
1. When a man spends longer hours at work, he is only 'working very hard'; when a woman does the same, she is an 'outright careerist'!
I dont agree to this statement.. Cant a woman work for the family as the men do... Now days woman do any kind of job which was not before.. kalpana chawla has reached the space and in the men too its Rakesh Sharma.. We are making ourselves equal to that of men... Then why given different tags for the same work that we do... Unfortunately our society does not accept this and gives a different tag for the women.. But im sure as with the pace the society is changing these days, we can expect to get the same tag as a hard worker.. Infact, now days many of them hv started calling women as a hard worker.. so, as society changes in time to time these tags will be changed for sure..
2. A woman should retain her maiden name after marriage. After all, that's the identity she has grown up with from birth.
I partially agree with this... If a man can maintain his name for ever why cant a women.. A woman is asked to change the name because it should be known that where she is married, to whom she is married to etc.. in olden days, it was like that because it was said a woman should also get recognition in the family where she goes to.. Suppose a sur name is common to all of them in the family, then it wouldn be nice to seperate the woman alone from the family as she belongs to the family... So, may be the choice can be left to the girl to choose if she wants to change or not and not surely enforce the rule..
3. Live-in relationships are perfectly fine for matured, independent individuals; marriage only brings in unnecessary commitments!
I have always wanted a life like this 😛 but yes we cannot stay like that.. once in a while, we need a person to hold our hands, once in a while we need a person to share our views.. we may hv frnds, but there will be no one who will be close to us to whom we can express our feelings, and our emotions... so, its truly not an unnecessary commitment... this commitment towards a life also teaches us how to love the other, how well can u adjust with a person etc... so, its always nice to get married after enjoying the freedom 😉
4. Parents are the best teachers for the sex-education of teenager kids, and should start it as early as possible.
While answering to other question similar to this, i said Parents can be a best guide to spread awarness of the same... Yes, they can be given to the teenagers may be at the age of 14 or 15.. but again here, some teenagers listen to the parents and some do not... they are misguided by friends and are taken to wrong direction.. its the responsibility of the parents to take care that their kid do not get into such company of friends
5. Nuclear family works the best! If the girl is leaving behind her family after marriage, so should the guy!
Not required actually... Nowdays, guy and gal usually live seperately as they have their own career and job to do and live seperately else where from their parents.. it has become a trend now.. but if the parents are in same city as that of a guy and girl then nuclear family is not needed unless and until the parents are rude and gives trouble to the girl.. if the girl feels that the parents may give her some trouble, then the nuclear family is the best... else all can live in one place happily.. if the girl's family is also willing and girl is the only girl then let them also stay there and live happily.. why not...
6. Love marriages fail more often than arranged marriages because of unreasonable expectations from each other!
In some cases yes... they do tend to happen... in arranged marriages we dont know the other person, and come to know only later by that time we start liking the person and live happily... but still i dont know how come ppl do arranged marriages 😕 how come they marry a person whom they dont know... in love marriage we know the person before but as mentioned here, due to unreasonable expectations there surely tend to raise some problems here... but if the chemistry is well maintained and understanding is there, then may it love or arranged, all the marriages are succesful
7. Virtual relationships can have as much impact as real, even without any real contact. Hence they are lot stronger!
Virtual relationships though give us the real impact of life, they teach us various things, the bonding is actually maintained etc.. but somehow i feel real life is truly the one where we live in.. It is where we live, in Virtual we live for ourselves, our enjoyment, sharing our life etc but then real life impacts are totally different.. they give as a real impact of life.. Why do we ask a question "Whom do you want to meet in the forum" Why should we meet.. We can be like this itself na... but its not like that.. once u meet a person personally, only then we can know more about the person, the personality, the way of speech, the body language, all this matters to maintain a relationship.. So, Virtual relationship gives a pleasure and bonding, but real is different.. we cannot have virtual hubby's and say this is my hubby and so, i wouldn marry... Thus, Real life has a better impact
8. The strongest believer of God does not need to go to a temple to worship. God is inside the person anyways
I will now tell, why we go to a temple.. A temple is a holy place.. There are very few who might know why we go to a temple.. A temple is where the mantras are said... The idol that we worship, is not just a stone.. It has all powers in it... Before placing the idol in the temple, lot of poojas are done with the idol and each and every mantra that is said inside the 4 walls along with the idol has its effects... the stone has power and so does the temple.. Before starting a temple, why do they do pooja? Each and every mantra has its own meaning...
The Word "OM" brings in from us a lot of good feelings.. Thus, going to a temple gives u a power, the power given to the idol is in turn re-generated to us... This is the truth and it happens everywhere... So, you believe in god or not, just go to temple and get the powers
9. Indian film music is decaying! Re-mix at least helps youngsters to be aware of the golden compositions.
No way.. Why to spoil the songs... If we wanna make the youngsters aware of the golden compositions, then why not include one golden composition song along with every casette.. HRs songs are very popular... include one song in that casette... Youngsters are smart, they will realise what is composition 😉
10. Internet and Television exposure for today's kids is a menace – for every one useful information /knowledge, there are ten that are harmful!
Oh yes absolutely true.. but why not consider that one as equal to 10 and this 10 as equal to one by proiritizing😉 We can always accept the good when there is both good and bad.. You get popups, yes accepted, jus close them and go ahead doing the work you hve to.. there is nothing called as harmful when u get thngs which are really useful
11. Same sex relationships should be legalized.
I have no comments on it.. i have no idea seriously... never got to know things like this... but then, if 2 girls would like to maintain a relationship, then they can always do it... we have given it as a man and woman marriage because each of them compliment each other in relationship... if 2 girls or 2 guys would like to compliment then they can always go ahead... It should be legalized or not i dont know.. but we are humans and we are here for one time and so we can do what we would like to(only in this context.. dont consider all of them)
12. Death penalty does not address the root cause of the problem and hence should be abolished.
Dealth and birth of a person is decided by god.. who are we to decide them.. i am absolutely against dealth penalty.. infact we are reducing the punishment by giving dealth penalty.. He doesnot suffer in a prison and just walks out of life in a moment... so, agree to this
13. The youth today needs to stay back in India and work towards its progress. Brain drain does not help.
I agree to this partially.. but depends upon India's policies.. If we take the field of computer science, in India its mostly maintenance work and outsourcing work that is done... So, youth want a change to this lifestyle and go abroad in search of better opportunities... If given opportunity here, they would surely stay here and not go abroad.. it should be give and take policy.. If government provides it, then we can always stay here and work... But yes, it again comes to serving the nation.. if we like to, then we can always do it...
14. Love at first sight is something you only see in Karan Johar movies – it never happens in real life
Just given an explanation to what is love, how can i agree to this... These movies just show a girl in love with a guy in just a moment of sight... 😆😆 how could it be... It can be attraction, it can be infactuation, but truly not love....
15. Love is best when silent and implied. Feelings anyways can't be expressed in words or actions.
Feelings can truly be expressed in words and actions... Just answered what is love and what is feeling.. just copying it here... Sorry for copying the same answer.. but i think this is the relevant point mentioned here abt love...
Love on the whole is an expression, a feel of goodness towards anything.. may it be for parents, brother, sister, lover, friend or the better half... Love doesnt means that you like all the qualities of the person, it is a feel that makes you accept the person on the whole... You though donot like some qualities of a person, you accept the person because the those qualities which you donot like about the person exceeds the qualities you like in him...
There shouldn be any expectations in love but understanding... for example: one loves her brothers and do not expect the brothers to do anything for her... but still the brothers do everything for her.. Thats love they share with each other...
one women sometimes do not expect the better half to take for the dinner and do not express it out, but then he takes the other to the dinner by just understanding what she wants...
So, basically its mutual understanding that is required in love...
We love our parents.. we do expect certain things to be done, but then they do certain things that really surprises us and it would be a thing that we really wanted them to do but never said.... thats love...
Silent Expression and Silent Do's.. Just imagine world to be so... Can there be hatredness if love is present
Will ask more soon….
